Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen

Ordered the 8oz sirloin, mashed potatoes, broccoli casserole and a glass of their house pinot noir. The house wine was very drinkable, dry and with enough tannins to make it interesting but without being overpowering like a cabernet. It also tasted very fresh--one of the worries with ordering wine by the glass is that maybe they opened the bottle a few days ago, and you aren't getting a wine at its best. I was very happy with it. The steak was a great cut of meat with no large chunks of fat or gristle. I ordered it medium rare, and it came out perfectly cooked. It was well seasoned and tender. Usually order filet mignon, because so many places have terrible sirloin. But this was perfect, and I'd order it again. The sides were hot and tasty. Our server was friendly, with a great smile and just the right amount of chattiness. She was attentive without being annoying, and we didn't want for anything for the entire meal (drink refills, etc). It's a rare skill to be able to serve well without feeling like an intrusion, and she pulled it off perfectly.

The food was decent, but I was very disappointed in the wait time. I called ahead and ordered. They said it would take 30 minutes. We arrived In 30 minutes and waited and additional 30 minutes in curbside for our food. This is not the 1st time this has happened. It took over an hour to get food we called ahead. Not good at all

We did a curbside order and it was anticipated to be 30 minutes, so we went and got ice cream, came back and it was ready for us! We called to inform them of our arrival and asked them to bring some ranch with our order, the girl answering was very upbeat and sweet! And the girl who brought our food was also super friendly. We were impressed with our overall interaction here :)

Something has changed. Salmon is very good, chicken fried steak very good. However, I always use to go for a great restaurant burger. It was fresh, thick patty and seemed to be hand formed and the onions were chopped and shredded lettuce. It came on a great toasted bun. It was a large restaurant burger. You could also get it made to ordered. Me, I prefer rare. Now the patty is half the size, seems to be hard pressed and frozen and you can get only done medium well (I guess when you lower the quality of the beef you cook it as dry brown meat to protect the patrons from bad under cooked meat, how sad). Fast food burgers are different and great and are made to accommodate the term FAST but a higher end restaurant serving what is supposed to be a higher quality of food offering should be different. Oh yeah, I forgot the new excuses (yes everyone has heard them for the past two or three years) allows businesses to lower quality and not feel bad about it. You know, Stake Holders Profits are more important than Customers.

I really want to thank my server today for doing such a great job. His name is Allen S. and he was fantastic. Not only was the service excellent, the food was perfect. Thanks for such a wonderful experience. Cheddars has come full circle in my view. A couple of years ago I would never have recommended this location. Our most recent dining experience changed that opinion. The dining area was clean, the food was fantastic and the service was impeccable. Highly recommended. It’s been 4 months since we last ate here. Food again was excellent as was the service. 01-28-2020

I was there Saturday 10-30-21 with a friend to have a late lunch !👍❤👍 I food was just WONDERFUL & every bite was fully FANTASTIC ❤ And the service was A 1. I was in the Restaurant & Club business in Illinois for 29 years. I'm very poor about remembering names. But our waiter Mr. J. (I think) was the BEST & WONDERFUL Waiter I have EVER had.
