Huddle House

We had a really poor experience here. Our server seemed really distracted. They told us conflicting information about being able to substitute items (first, that we couldn't substitute, and then, that we could get a biscuit instead of toast), which led to some brief confusion while ordering. The miscommunication wasn't acknowledged, which always feels frustrating to experience when you're putting energy and attention into the interaction, but no big deal. We ordered two breakfast dishes and opted for the free (Wednesday) waffle. We drank lukewarm coffee because we had to track down the server (who'd disappeared to wash dishes?) to ask for half & half. After a bit of a wait, the food started coming out. It trickled out over the period of probably 15 minutes, waffle and pancake first, then finally the eggs and hash browns at the end. We ordered our eggs over medium, and they came out extremely undercooked--the whites near the yolk was still clear! Photo included. We sent the eggs back for recooking, which they did, although one of the egg orders still came back with runny whites. We ended up getting charged for the free waffle, which we didn't realize until after we left the restaurant and reflected on how high the price seemed. We went back and got that corrected without issue. But what we didn't realize until even later was that we never even received our grits & toast with the MVP platter we ordered. I'm just baffled by how many how many things went wrong. I feel like I was robbed of some time, energy (and phantom grits & toast RIP) that I'll never get back, haha. I can't see myself ever going back to this Huddle House again.

Horrible. I normally don’t ever leave any kind of review but this was just awfullll. If I could rate no stars I would honestly. Better off going to either if the Waffle Houses in town. Got here at 9 am didn’t get our food until 10:30 am. Takes an hour or more to get your food unless you are lucky. Watched 3 tables come in after us and got their food and left before we ever got our breakfast.

I wanted to give this location 3 stars because the cooks always cook a great meal. So props to the cooks here and to the two waitresses who did their job just fine. But there are 3 or 4 waitresses at this location that are really lacking in their service and make me not want to come back. I almost always tip a decent amount at the very least and many times a good bit more for great service. I understand depending on tips to survive as I was a pizza delivery driver for 6&1/2 years. But it goes both ways. You expect a decent tip and I expect decent service. At least 3 of the waitresses that have served me at this location have taken my order, then brought my food, then never checked up on me until I either had to get their attention for a refill on my drink or have to get another waitress to do their job for them. Need extra napkins? Well, hopefully you can wait 10-15 minutes for the waitress to check up on you if you don't feel like hollering at her across the restaurant or staring her down for minutes at a time, and a couple times I was their only customer. A restaurant, as well as any business, will only get worse without negative feedback once in a while so here's mine. I'd rather not go to a restaurant at all than to have to tip only 10% because I refuse to reward bad service. Although I'm sure some people would argue that you should leave no tip at all for bad service. You can't say they're wrong for thinking or doing that.
