Pops Place

The atmosphere is awesome! Very good wait staff. Drinks from the bar were well made. For a Friday night they got us in and out quickly. However, DO NOT order the crawfish etouffee. They obviously have not been anywhere near the Atchafalaya and had an etouffee. This greasy watery mess needs to be taken off the menu. I will definitely go back but would stick to shrimp or steaks.

Found this place from a travel website recommendation and they were right. This place will not disappoint you. Staff are friendly and courteous. Our waitress even helped us find a hotel when all others were sold out. The food was the best I've ever had. The sample of crawfish grits left us taking an order to go. It was just as good the next day. The parking lot looks busy but we were seated right away. All seating is covered outside and just adds to the ambiance this place. This is definitely an out of the way stop well worth it.

Pop’s Place is my favorite restaurant in this area. Great food, great service, great music playing, reasonable pricing. Laid back atmosphere! Totally awesome place! I love Shrimp & Grits and have eaten it all over the south in our travels. Well, Pop’s Place has Crawfish & Grits…and it is better than any shrimp & grits I’ve ever eaten anywhere. And, you get bread pudding with your check!! 😁

We arrived at 5 so it wasn't crowded. Service was good, our waiter was attentive. The atmosphere feels like a local favorite. We sat outside there was a fan and misters so we were cool. We ordered Sally's Dip, a bacon filet and a ribeye. The meals came with 2 sides. All the food was prepared well, the filet was a bit too pink, but tastey. We walked away very full.

So went there for like the 4th time and loved it every time except this time.. I have a severe dairy allergy and was treated like i was different. Our waitress was almost rude when i asked to speak to the chef. She was irritated when i asked for the ingredients on the food.. will never go back and do not suggest anybody with food allergies go there.
