La Dalat

This is a nice little restaurant downtown Temple. Everything looks clean and updated, though the floor was a bit sticky. I had the poached chicken salad with cabbage and pickled carrots. I am used to having this with duck, but it was delicious with chicken. The anise gave it extra flavor. My husband had the grilled pork chop rice plate, and the marinade on the meat tasted amazing. Beautiful presentation, and healthy meal choices. We went early in the evening and it was not crowded at all. Plenty of parking along the street.

We shared a plate of fresh crisp fried Fired-Cracker Shrimp with sweet-chili sauce (different sauces were also available on the table) for an appetizer. This was followed by a Grilled Shrimp Vermicelli Noodles Bowl and a Wok-sauteed shrimp, pork, and vegetables over a crisp-fried egg-noodle nest. The vermicelli noodle bowl is served with a house-made fish sauce that you pour over the contents, giving it a slightly sweet and delicious flavor. Both dinner meals had plenty of vegetables and all three dishes required using fingers to eat the shrimp if you wanted to get every piece, which we did! We ended the meal with sweet dark iced Vietnamese coffee. So good, we'll come again and again!

It's outa the way and in a less than high property tax area. Local law enforcement rolled by 4 times while eating. Luckily the great places to eat are normally off the beaten path. This property is no exception. La Dalat is the 💣 B when you are looking for Vietnamese food. For America, it's very good. Obviously it doesn't taste like if you were in Vietnam cause the water is different. The menu is straightforward and smaller than normal but what they do offer is excellent! The spring rolls, eggrolls, Pho and ice coffee are off the chain and well presented. Portions are adequate for the price. Service was top notch. The actual property is uncluttered and streamlined, definitely no frills. We search out Vietnamese restaurants. Glad we took the time to read Google reviews. Would definitely return.. After a day at the lake, we were so hungry and this place had great reviews, decided to try it out ad our Anniversary dinner. So glad we did, the place was super cute, clean and cozy. The service was great and everyone was very attentive. The appetizers came out fast and they were amazing, then the entrees and they were even better. The food had so much flavor and everything tasted fresh and delish. Definitely recommend it here.

Although short staffed due to Covid, the food was delicious and the service was good. They have a vermicelli dish I haven’t seen in 20 years since a place that closed down in austin years ago….it has beef wrapped around onion and it is to die! The children’s chicken and rice was plentiful and beautifully presented and my son loved it. Highly recommend.

Super laid back and chill environment. Very nice and clean. Service was great and food was flavorful and delicious! And extremely fresh💯I will be back when in town again. Had VA appt and this downtown restaurant had parking available and was only 5-6 min away from Temple VA. Not too packed and everyone adhered to Covid restrictions. There's a hand sanitizer on every table for your convenience. Pop Music is played throughout on speakers, but not too loud. Very nice rustic(?) Brick walls and concrete floors. Trendy looking with an exposed ceiling and two signs of 'blessed' & 'faith' on walls. Highly recommend. This place was great. All 👏of 👏it👏. Lol great place. Cleanliness, service, accessibility, food, and environment. You name it, it's good here💯
