Pit Master Bar-b-que

Great food. New to Texas, the service was great too. A gentleman who appeared to be the owner acknowledged his customers and gave my son a soda even though we arrived for take out. Was a big deal for my son. If you are looking for genuine bar b q and not a franchise, this is the place to visit. We had ribs, back yard beans, corn, and fries.

My husband and I stopped for lunch here last week. We had never been here before and decided to try it out since we were both craving barbecue. We were politely greeted, seated and served right away. Very nice atmosphere and very clean. We both ordered the loaded brisket baked potatoes. I got chopped brisket and my husband got sliced (which many barbecue places don't offer on a potato). The food was excellent and so was the iced tea, which the waitress offered us to- go cups as we checked out. We will definitely be back soon to try some more menu items. :)

Was looking for a good bbq place following a long and frustrating drive to/from League City on that miserable highway, I-45. Tried to get to a couple of restaurants in Houston; however the crowds and lack of parking dissuaded. Googled and found Pitmaster BBQ off Sawdust Rd, just west of I-45. The place is smack-dab in the middle of a large strip mall, just east of Budde Rd. Walked in around 7:15 PM, the restaurant closes at 8:00 PM; hardly anyone around at the time. We’re greeted warmly by Cassidy at the front door - sat in the covered patio area, very pleasant on a typical Oct evening. Cassidy was extremely friendly and attentive - ordered the sausage/brisket/ribs combo platter for $22, together with Fried Okra and Baked Beans as sides. In addition, ordered Jalapeño poppers and Onion Rings as appetizers. Food arrived very quickly, and was it delicious! The meats were well-smoked and fall-off-bone tender, the spicy sausage was perfectly cooked. Sides were not at all greasy - very tasty. Texas toast accompanied the platter. Rounded off the fine meal with Blueberry Cobbler and Pecan Pie to go. Nice touch that the owner came and checked on us, in addition to Cassidy’s excellent attention. The meal was plentiful and cost $69 for two, including 20% tip. Overall, very satisfying - recommend this hidden gem if you like a quiet, well-attended to experience.

This was not that bad. I had the pit mater special which included ribs, sausage and brisket with 2 sides. The meat was not as tender as I would like and if not for the sauce would be a bit bland, however that potato salad was fire. I usually do not get potato salad but gave it a try and was not disappointed. Overall this is not a bad spot to eat if you want a quick BBQ fix.
