I've been to many sushi places in the US and Japan and this place is absolutely amazing. The omakase is the best I've ever had.

We went for the "chef special choice" Omakase sashimi and sushi combo at the sushi bar. The quality, presentation and selection of options excelled.

This is one of our favorite local sushi spots. Even during the pandemic, we would treat ourselves to their omakase (sushi selection by the chef) and a few of our other favorite rolls and items. Their food is always fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. In person, the service has always been great as well. We cannot wait to go back in person soon!

Summary: Service was pretty bad and although the fish was decent, it was pricier than even NYC (look up Sugarfish). Not great value (they charged $2 for a bottle of warm Poland spring water) and not likely to return due to service. 1. Walked in and from across the room the waitress gestured to an open table without coming over to seat us. Weird but ok no problem. 2. Menu was very limited compared to what was advertised on their website with essentially no kitchen items (except for nebayaki udon) and only some special rolls. Again no problem because I came for the nigiri. 3. Only after I returned from the bathroom (more on that later) did the waiter mention they did not have an item I ordered. She walked past me without saying anything else so I had to chase her down and ask her to put in another order of an alternate item. Weird and dismissive but whatever. 4. After getting the food (which was decent), we saw other patrons get salads along with their food. When we asked, the waitress said salad only came with non sushi orders and she assumed that our udon order was going to be eaten by our child so she didn't give us the salad. Why would getting a salad hinge on who the food is going to? If it's paid for, it should be included period. 5. Waitress came by and took our soy sauce without saying anything or asking if we were done. Other issues: one of the bowls we got was pretty dirty and there's almost no air circulation inside with interior temperature being quite warm even though it was already very warm out. Chipped glass tabletops, missing ceiling tiles...just overall a little more shabby than I expected. Overall, pretty disappointing experience. Good chu toro but that's honestly the only positive thing about the whole night.

Ai Sushi is what real authentic sushi is all about! The fish is always very fresh, creative options and simply delicious. I have been going to this restaurant since it was formerly known as Shumi. The quality of the food has not changed since new owners have taken over! The food never disappoints! If you love fresh sushi, Ai Sushi will not disappoint ! Always amazing !

First off, Ai Sushi is NOT an Americanized sushi place. If you are looking for some California, Volcano or Fat Flying Pregnant Pig rolls, you won't find them there. What you will find is the best quality fish in the area prepared by very experienced chefs. The omakase (chef's choice) is always excellent. It is BYOB, so grab a good bottle of Saki and enjoy yourself!

Sushi was so good I was too busy eating it and forgot to photograph it. Next time! While it will not be necessarily easy to find this restaurant, it is tucked away inside a building, it is definittely worth doing as the food was terrific. Had edamame, gyoza, and seaweed salad to start. Had various sushi pieces for dinner. Very happy with the experience and the food was great. Nice selection of fish. Go check it out!

Went there a few days ago and sat at the sushi bar for the omakase. The sushi and sashimi were all delicious. The chef was deft, incredibly polite, and very knowledgeable. We tried some Japanese aori ika (bigfin reef squid) that was incredible and apparently very hard to find. At the end, the chef humored me with an uni (sea urchin) maki and it was quite an experience. We were debating getting omakase in Philadelphia or NYC, but are glad we chose Ai sushi. Its omakase is top notch and the prices are much more comfortable than either big city.
