Mr Youtiao

Satiating breakfast. The youtiao is not freshly fried unless you're lucky. But they do toast it. It goes very well with the viscous, chinese-style curry dip, which is free flow. One scoop is enough. We tried to balance it out with some protein, by the beancurd and eggs. The meal kept me full for a good 4 hours. I liked the soy milk, it's a classic combination for a reason!

For $6.80, I got a cup of hot soya drink, one small porridge, one youtiao and a curry dip which is good enough for two servings. I think it is a worthwhile breakfast however would expect the signature Youtiao to taste a bit more crispy and less soggy. But with the price and amount of food. I think it is still worthwhile.

Very nice crispy you tiao can be found here. Have tried the almond and original versions; both are very good. Goes well with coffee (especially black ones). The interesting thing here is that the shop provides a free flow of curry. You can find the counter to get your own curry, as well as other condiments, next to the cashier. The curry goes well with the noodles as well, but the serving of the noodles is quite little. Price is reasonable for the area that the shop is located in and the staff is friendly.

Quick, friendly service, and great prices to boot! Serve yourself to the curry dipping sauce for your fried fritters / you tiao / or whatever you want to call it. Delicious! Not pictured is the curry noodle which was awesome. This is the normal size, whereas the mini set is smaller in size, and fewer fritters.
