Beech Tree

Met a friend I hadn't seen since high school, along with her husband and 2 boys on Wednesday. Enjoyed the food. The waitress was attentive. Restroom was clean. Since bar is in the same room, it was a bit loud and sometimes difficult to hear our conversations. Overall, it was very good. Would return and would recommend to others.

We got a seat quickly which was great. The service was ok but not great or adaptive, the waiter left a few times without finishing an order. I had the steak, medium rare, and the inside of the steak was great, the outside tasted charred though, as did the sauce. The rest of it was great however.we got dessert which was fantastic.(Root beer float and creme bruele) some of the best I've ever had. So possibly skip the steak for something else.

Been twice in the past 6 months and thought food was fine. Some good beer and wine choices. Complaint is essentially that i have never sensed that they were eager for my business. I felt like i was intruding on the staff rather being welcomed. I have been to Babycakes next door and while food is not quite as good, it is far more inviting.

I am a frequent diner of this establishment and applaud the consistent, flavorful and quality meals that are able to be created from a kitchen the size of my coat closet. I highly recommend Beech Tree for a fun, casual night on the town. The service is good, the food is fantastic and they won't rush you out once you're done. Favorite staples of mine include the cornmeal calamari, soba noodle salad and hanger steak!

Ordered a special, place was empty. Ten minutes later was informed the main item wasn't available (smoked salmon) and they could substitute grilled salmon.ok but was then asked how I wished it cooked, I was stunned for a second as I sure they did not carry sushi quality fish! I replied fully cooked, she asked again "medium rare? Iscoffed and said again fully cooked! I finally had to say medium, it came out just undercooked, but the outside was charred so I considered it safe. Taste was ok. Then watched the cook cracking eggs on a non kitchen counter, dump in bowl and throw the shells into a receptacle behind and to his right...trailing egg whites over everything in between. No head covering and sprouting a beard, no apron or gloves! A second cook arrived and stared working on the same location without a hand washing station in sight. Shall not go back
