I always drive by a Grand Central Bakery, but usually
avoid pastries with icing
and are really sweet.
Grand Central has a nice
selection of pasteries,
artisan bread and a cafe
with soup, salad and sandwiches.
I selected a rustic cinnamon
roll, a blueberry scone, a
Cherry Danish and a Trial
Mix Cookie.
The cinnamon roll was
sticky with caramel and
not really sweet.
The Danish was thick,
sweet, covered in icing
and had a nice cherry
taste.
The cookie and the scone
had a nice taste to them.
The bakery offers U-bake
items such as pizza, pie
and chocolate chip dough.
Located on SE Woodstock
and 44th avenue across
from Bi-Mart.
Parking is limited to the side
streets.
Grand Central has something
to offer for everybody from
pasteries, breads, U - bake,
drinks and a cafe with
friendly service.

Appreciated this bakery for solid bread and pastries. We had the rye sour dough which was great. Danishes and cinnamon rolls were so good. Nothing was over the top, just thoughtful and well baked.

I love this place with all my heart. No one has a better dirty chai tea latte than they do. Their bread and pastries are amazing, and they’ve got a mean grilled cheese sandwich. I look forward to trying their other menu items in the future. Oh, also! The people here are so nice. Great staff. You should give them all raises!

This place is a sleeper if you are just rolling down woodstock, be sure to stop in for the early opening so you can grab a warm quiche. I personally enjoy the summer harvest tomato 🍅

EDIT (2 years later): The service has greatly improved. I'm upping it from 2 to 4 stars.
Original review: The food is fine, but the service is absolutely infuriating. First, there was only one person in line in front of me who ordered two things, but it still took more than a reasonable amount of time to get to the front of the line. The worst thing was the cashier who served me couldn't be bothered to grab a cinnamon roll and a croissant that were literally a foot and a half from his hand after I paid and asked him for my food, citing a "weird order of operations that would be boring to explain" - ...it's like they're trying to test your patience. After I ordered, (two items that were on display in the glass case DIRECTLY NEXT TO THE CASHIER - nothing prepared) I had to stand there while the cashier helped several other customers. I finally had to ask for my food. It's a BAKERY - when people order food, just give them the damned food. It's like they want people to stand around and be irritated. Just take care of one customer at a time and actually give them the thing they paid for instead of relying on your "order of operations" to justify your terrible service.

What's the big deal about a bakery? How about some of the best specialty breads you ever ate! Pastries too. Everything is delicious and reasonably price. But get there early...this places sells out quickly.

The bread here is absolutely fantastic. I got a como and a pecan pull apart and a scone. The scone was buttery with a really nice crunchy glaze on the outside. The pecan pull apart was crazy good. And the Como is a nice light Italian sourdough that is absolutely crunchy and chewy fantastic

Although this place can be busy on the weekends, the food is great. I've tried salads, bread, pastry, sandwiches and coffee. Always pleased. Can never find a spot to sit. I love the cherry tart. The coffee isn't burnt. The bread is delish. Staff is friendly and very helpful. I love looking at the selection while I wait. It is a little cramped for a baby stroller but I can get it to fit. Oh and there is more seating in a back room.

My favorite bread in the USA. First time eating at the cafe. My sandwich was GREAT, although the basic breakfast sandwiches were...very very basic. Not bad, just bland.
