Kumar's

WORST experience. Heavy crowded during week end. We had to wait for 1 hour (even though booked our table through phone call earlier) to get our table and had to wait for another 30 mins to get the food on our table. Food taste is AVERAGE and not worth while comparing the wait time. Staffs could be more polite on communication. Over crowd is understandable . But , try to value customers time and give proper communication.

This is so far our good choice to go for dinner here. We ordered soup( Aatu kal soup) goat bone soup with spices. We loved it. Chicken dum biryani rice: I will say it was good very flavor full, but I will call it more like chicken rice instead of biryani just because of presentation and texture. Mutton chops were amazing, very well cooked and masala was super good with garlic Naan. Other than that ambiance is cozy. The server was good and quick and was able to suggest good items from the menu. The price range is on the higher side compared to other Indian restaurants in Plano. All over clean cozy and a great place to enjoy with family and friends.

I LOVE THIS PLACE and what they offer ( even if it has changed!!) The limited Thali is still value for money and very filling for a foodie like me. Hats off for still keeping it running post Pandemic and for keeping the food tasty and worth traveling for. I really enjoyed everything especially the chicken curry and rasam. It really made me feel at home. Loved the service, and expect nothing more. It is what it is for the number of staff they hire. Kumar's you really bring great food and concept to the western market! For all those who complained about customer service or the disappointment about unlimited Thali no longer running ; please get a perspective!!! It is never going to be like home in India where we treat everyone badly and call it great customer service for people being at your hands and feet. They are running a business across the seas bringing good food to us at a value of a price. Yes if they hire more staff maybe you will get one on one service but fortunately fancy dining is not what you came to Kumar's for.... I'm here for the delicious "just like home" food and a great music playlist ( and for the post food coma nap.

I used to love going to Kumar's pre pandemic days with family as well as friends. I recently visited Kumar's for a lunch dine in after a long time. I think food doesn't taste as great as it used to be. Not sure what changed.. I ordered non veg thali and it was decent affair. Maybe cos my expectations were pre-pandemic high. Staff was very helpful. They were offering second helpings. I will go one more time, to check if it was a one off day.

We came from 25 miles away. Had veg and non veg thali. They tell you upfront that the thali is not unlimited. Which was fine by us as we still think it’s good value for money with the variety. Customer service is very good. Food is tasty. They forgot to give us jigirthanda but it could be because they are short staffed due to COVID. Will definitely come back again.

Firstly they dont serve thaali for dinner. As for the taste test the dosa was okay but sambhar was bland. The chicken appetisers were not good. The chole bhatura was tasty probably the only dish that deserves 5 star. The service was nice. The restaurant was clean. Everything else apart from the food was good. They need to improve their food items.

Very bad experience at Kumars, the food was gross. Don't know happened to them. Was there a few months back for lunch and had a great experience. But today it was just the opposite. Everything from food to customer service sucks. Especially all the non veg items which came with the thaali meals were really substandard. Sorry to see that the quality of food and service has gone down drastically in a few months.

Their thalappakatti mutton biriyani used to be very good. Ordered one for takeout recently and it tasted so bland with mostly only bones (I have a picture attached of all the pieces ie all BONES). So overpriced too ($16) The pepper chicken ($13) was also not good, again super overpriced for the very less quantity. Totally disappointed.
