Flap Jack Pancake House

Stopped in here on a Friday, mid afternoon for some breakfast. It was relatively busy, but the place wasn't packed and the host seated us right away. We were given menus right away and provided with water and coffee too. My daughter had the Mickey Mouse pancakes and I had the meat lovers omelette, which came with hash browns and a side of toast. My daughter loved her pancakes and the omelette was good too. The service was good also, the restaurant and the bathrooms are clean. The only thing I didn't like about this place was that my water cup had a ring around it, like when milk sits out for too long. I didn't ask for another water, but I'm sure if I had, they would've brought to it me with no problem. However, it made me think that the bus boys and servers should pay more attention to these little, but big, details.

My husband stumbled across this place. So glad he did!! :) As soon as we got to Flap Jacks of Oak Lawn, the host immediately greeted us with a warm welcome. Our waiter Courtney (Chucky costume) was incredibly nice and was extremely patient while my dad placed his order. The quality and experience that we had today, was definitely a bargain. This is by far one of the best places we’ve been to for breakfast, we highly recommend to anyone who visits Chicago or simply wanting to enjoy a tasty breakfast in the area.

Food was ok. It did not wow me at all. Wanted to try something different because I always usually eat at the same places especially when I know the food is good. We ordered a vegetable omelet with fruit & hollandaise sauce on the side, Eggs w/grits and sausage patty. The omelette was ok, not bad but just ok. The pancakes were really good and fluffy. The eggs were ok, but the grits were kind of watery. I don’t think I will be going back.

I have driven by this place for years and never entertained the thought of trying it until recently. I was quite surprised to find a restaurant with decent portion sizes and flavorful food. I tried the meat lovers omelet. I found the omelet to be a decent size with ham, bacon and sausage that was well proportioned. I also had grits that were creamy and delicious along with two pancakes. I can't stress enough the portion size. I liked that there was enough food to satisfy me but not enough to make me go into a food comma. I will definitely be going back here again and trying different menu items. Kudos to Flapjacks.

Our go-to breakfast spot. Parking can be a pain depending on the day/time you go, however, even when the restaurant is at it's busiest, we are seated quickly and the service is fast. We're fast eaters and love how quick the food comes out and we get to be in and out, on with our day, in no time at all. The food is consistently good and the servers are always super nice. Great prices as well
