Visited Source with my vegan friend the other morning. So many things I wanted to order. The food looked incredible! Beautifully colored and delicious, the staff were very friendly and gave great service. This meat eater will definitely be back to try some more dishes!

I came here with friends for lunch mid week. Cute little set up. Service was friendly and prompt. I had the lamb croquettes, which were delicious! My friendly also enjoyed the miso mushroom dish.

200% improved. We returned Aug 2020 and were impressed with the changes in quality, variety, presentation and flavours in the food. Well done guys. You really serve great food nowadays! We had Mushroons, Croquettes, Kale and Miso and Coconut. High praise to the kitchen staff who did wonders with the food. Highly recommended for a good breakfast. Source have recently changed their menu and the latest brekky offerings aren't particularly inspiring (they removed my favourite dish, the corn bread and pulled pork!). I tried the brekky burger - it's a fried egg and bacon in a Turkish bun - very dull. I walked out feeling deeply unsatisfied. <br/>Coffee is always great here, however. <br/>Not sure that I am in much of a hurry to return.

Situated on the corner of Beaufort St and Brisbane St sits Source and its originality. With a warm feel and friendly greeting we ordered lattes and some hunger stoppers. The orange and poppy seed muffin was textural and had all the right flavour notes. The pulled pork, corn bread, kale and egg dish was absolutely a homer in in terms of flavour profile and eclectic nature of ingredients. The overlooked poached eggs did bring the dish down from an near perfect example of breakfast. Lastly, our coffees were like warm and didn't have the usual latte quantity of flavour. <br/><br/>In closing, a really good turn out with some minor sour notes, that could have been a flawless offering.<br/><br/>Food 8/10 Service 8/10 Decor 7/10

If you know what's good for you... get to Source Foods and order these breakfast dishes immediately! Kasundi eggs & pulled pork dishes, best breakfasts we've ever had. Coffee was also decent. Half a point lost as my egg yolks were a little more cooked than I'd prefer. Service was lovely. Can't wait to come back!

I have wanted to drop past here for ages and I'm glad I finally did! The breakfast was delicious and the coffee too. Nothing major to fault for an inexpensive and quality meal. My only gripe was the sourdough which was a bit light and white bread. Will defo be back.

Amazing! A recommendation by a work colleague lead me here. I was not disappointed, my meal - The southern corn bread with salted pulled beef etc...was rich, flavorsome and oh so fresh. I'm already salivating at the thought of returning and trying out the rest of the menu.

I was a little disappointed with Source Foods, only because the coffee wasn't the best I've had, but maybe that's because it was in such a large cup. The staff were really friendly and the food actually looks delicious so I wouldn't be turned off coming here again.

Another all day breakfast spot for lunch!! Source foods in Highgate was next on my 'All day breakfast bucket list' to try. I ordered the toasted muesli, nuts, cranberries and coconuts, served with creamy yogurt, roasted strawberries and milk. The strawberries were delicious roasted, it really brought out the sweetness in them, a healthier alternative for honey or maple syrup. The nuts were crunchy and the muesli was toasted til golden. The creamy yogurt was quite tart, but it was made sweet by the roasted strawberries. The milk gave a moist element to the dish, moistening the coconut. It was just slightly small.

I visited Source Foods a few times, and each time has been good and today was no exception. I had an all day workshop and need a good lunch to pick up my energy. I ordered the smoked free-range chicken salad with kale slaw, cashews, coriander, pea sprouts, bean shoots, croutons, bacon vinaigrette and chili mayonnaise and the Zinger juice which had apple, carrot, lemon and ginger at the counter. Service was friendly. There were plenty of tables to choose from as well as the alfresco option. I found a seat by the window. My juice arrived very soon and it was delish, packed full of flavor and I knew this was going to boost my energy to continue the workshop. The lunch also arrived quickly and was a very large salad that was full of colour and looked appealing. The flavours were fresh and the smoked chicken was a real treat. Will come back for the fresh food and juices when I am in the neighbourhood.

Disappointing. I love health buzz places and I had been so looking forward to midweek brunch with a girlfriend here. Arriving early, I ordered a smoothie. My friend arrived 10 mins later. She ordered coffee as we browsed the menu. Her coffee arrived. It was burnt. She loaded it with sugar so she could drink it. Still no sign of my smoothie. Ordered breakfast, found out my smoothie had been forgotten. The long awaited peanut butter smoothie finally found it's way to the table another 10 mins later. It was the only redeeming quality of this place. Breakfast arrived...my friend had muesli and yogurt which is hard to get wrong. I made the mistake of ordering organic bread and peanut butter. I had wrongly assumed because everything is so organic etc etc this might be some in-house made peanut butter. But no. Two tiny slices of dry cold toast were plonked in front of me, along with two sachets of some processed peanut butter loaded with salt and sugar. A bonus sachet of butter was provided too. Thee waitress looked embarrassed bringing it out to me, and even more so when I asked if this was the only peanut butter they had (which it was). The peanut butter was just awful, I didn't even finish everything. The service was slow, not a busy day, this was midmorning on a week day, and little aloof. Also, the door is hard to keep open and keeps snapping shut. That's a non-issue for most, but seeing pram-bearing mums and older adults almost injuring themselves just getting in or out of the cafe was a bit ridiculous. Overpriced, tasteless and misleading with regard to the health value. I would not return here.

Weary eyed and starving after a late night flight into Perth, this food lover walked into Source Foods hoping for a decent meal. We ordered the Perth BLT and the Sautéed Mushrooms Toasted Rye. It was everything I wanted and more. The food was so delicious and wholesome. The coffee was well made and beautiful and the staff were very friendly. Would definitely come back and would recommend this place to others!

This cafe has a great and lovely ambience, with friendly staff. Love their deco and concept! They have quite a decent range of foods on their menu, catering for people with various food allergies and needs. Found the haloumi salad ($17) too oily for my liking, and was missing the walnuts too. But the staff were quick and happy to make the necessary amendments. If not for that, the salad was quite pleasant. The BLT sandwich ($12) was worth it and nutritious with a balance of vege! Would definitely return!!

Based on staff's recommendation, I ended up ordering Biodynamic Tempeh Burger with Roasted Beetroot, Carrot, Tomato, Rocket, Vegan Pesto & Sweet Onion and Cappuccino for drink. The burger was really tasty and super filling. Coffee was good too. I'm keen to come back and try other dishes next time: Slow Cooked Beef Quesadillas & Soy + Orange Glazed Pulled Pork Sandwich.

This place has the best Masala Chai and Red Espresso Latte's! Milk was perfect with an abundance of choices. I had the coconut milk and it was so fresh and a little bit sweet.. YUM. The intensity of the latte was just right to complete my morning walk and don't have the gross feeling of having caffeine in a coffee.

Egg’s office in Northbridge is just around the corner from Source Foods so she often pops in for a coffee or lunch. She loves the fresh, sustainable produce used and urged me to have lunch with her and check it out for myself. Source offers a range of salads, wraps, burgers and all day breakfast food. Two blackboards list the regular items and daily specials. They also makes smoothies and fresh juices, and serve a range of loose leaf teas.

Nice place for a quick lunch. Had the O burger and steak sandwich. Like the light crunch in the O burger beetroot, the beef patty was juicy, loved how crispy the bun was on both sides! Steak was tender and again loved the bun used. Coffee was tasty, not too creamy. Nice alternative to Jus or Grill'd, with similar pricing and perhaps better quality.

(loads of fine food - cheese platter, wraps, salads, frittatas and dessert) and all put together with attentive care and with a personalised finesse. This place is sooo average and that's putting it mildly! Overpriced massively, rubbish coffee and no atmosphere! My partner and I went to check it out as we had been living on Beaufort street for a year and I wish I hadn't! There are some fabulous places for breakfast in Perth so why settle for below average, do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.

First time here after the cheese and kisses recommended it.<br/>First of all the service -<br/>The Mrs is pregnant and when ordering her burger the guy at the counter said "I will make sure the chef cooks it well done" which is always well received by a pregnant woman. :)<br/>Our table was a little wobbly but before we had a chance to fix it ourselves one of the girls was on the floor promptly chocking the leg..... What a fantastic start!<br/>Now for the food -<br/>I had the T Bruger the Mrs the O,<br/>Both were lovely and fresh and enough for a good lunch, left us both satisfied and agreed that we return.<br/>We have driven past this place a lot but now we will be stopping.

Good burgers, avoid the coffee. T (Tempeh) burger is amazing, mushrooms with hummus crostini is excellent. Last time I tried the vegan breakfast, the baked beans were undercooked and crunchy which was a shame. The quality of the food seems to vary but I've found the tempeh and tofu burgers to be the most consistent. I've given up on the coffee long ago (try it again every now and then just to be disappointed) so I generally opt for the fresh juices which are always amazing.

Incredibly disappointing and ripped off!. I ordered their version of Eggs Benedict with bacon at a cost of $22, not cheap by anyone's standards, my partner ordered poached eggs and bacon $15. There were no clean tables and no one came to clean ours after we sat down. When our food came everything look OK unfortunately, the Hollandaise sauce was covering the horror! I have never been served poached eggs of this standard anywhere. The egg had completely separated with the yolk hard and unpleasant, and the egg white was just a mess. These eggs were clearly not fresh enough to poach. My partners eggs looked a lot better but were completely hard. When I complained the two girls behind the counter were very sorry and said they had been having problems with the eggs this morning. To which I replied I don't think you should be serving them then. There was no offer to refund any of my breakfast which I had barely eaten, no wonder they get you to pay before you eat. I am surprised that a chef or whoever was cooking the breakfast was unable to work out why the eggs weren't poaching properly and why they would continued to serve them. I have never left a review before but felt compelled to as I feel completely ripped off and don't want others to be the same!

Went there for breakfast on a Sunday. There was two girls behind the counter. One was on the coffee machine and one on the till, yet the one on the till had to run out orders to the tables. Making service not very smooth. After waiting for twenty minutes for our coffees, we received our food half an hour later. Looks nice but my partners eggs were hard not runny, so we were informed there was going to be another 15minute wait, we (starving by this point) got out money back and had to find somewhere else. Not impressed.

Full of flavour. Went there yesterday for lunch with the hubby. I've been interested in trying some Perth 'health food' cafes of late and this one was rated highly. It's quite small, and I can imagine its hard to grab a seat on a weekend morning. This was around 2pm on Sunday so it was nice and quiet.<br/>We ordered a burger each - me, the O Burger and hubby the Tandoor Chicken burger. I had the green juice and hubby had the fresh apple.<br/>Overall I wasnt impressed with the price for a casual Sunday lunch - the burger has no sides and it came to $43 total - but once we tucked into our burgers that softened the financial blow.<br/>Thrifty thoughts aside, the burgers were SO SO tasty and full of flavour. The hubby's chicken was tender and the yogurt inside just went so well. My burger (the actual beef pattie itself) was lightly spiced, and it was tasty til the very end. LOVED the addition of beetroot... so so good (but also messy!). The bun was lightly crisp and so fresh.<br/>While enjoying our burgers, we were discussing how good they were compared to a certain burger place further South... and healthier!<br/>Our drinks were equally as delicious, and wonderfully cold with lots of ice. Would return despite the price - the menu isnt too big but I would like to try the tempeh burger next time!

Lovely choice of the usual, and not so usual breakfast treats. Coffee was amazing. Friendly staff too! Everything was fresh and tasty. My advice, sit outside on the street! It's a great spot for people watching. Vegan, paleo and raw food friendly, and not as expensive as some of the raw places I've previously visited. Will be back.

Very tasty, quiet, laid back. Had breaky here after walking out of yet again another cafe that essentially could only serve me poached eggs. This is becoming a bug bear of mine!<br/><br/>To be honest, Source also had pretty much poached eggs with everything too, but there was as scrambled option with spinach and feta with brioche toast. I didn't inquire if they could alter one of their other dishes to suit. I was too hungry and over it.<br/><br/>The gent at the counter also cautioned me that their soy milk was splitting when I ordered my flat white. I appreciate the heads up, and took my chances.<br/><br/>The scrambled eggs were delightful! The coffee great, and shared with the guy that soy often splits if the coffee is too strong, or at least as a seasoned soy drinker that's what I've consistently found. <br/><br/>The brioche was very tasty, and my fresh oj very refreshing.<br/><br/>All in all it was a restful breakfaat respite, with no crowds, tasty food and good coffee.

I have had many meals at the Source Cafe and always leave there happy with my meal. I love the fresh taste of each item on the menu, my favourite being the O burger. Highly recommend it. Well done Source Cafe for providing great fresh food and friendly staff.

So much promise. So disappointed :( GF options are always scarce. I waited twenty minutes for my takeaway order whilst three dine ins received their meals before mine despite ordering after me. In the end I had to ask for my meal and was made to feel bad by both service staff. For $18 I got less than half a chicken breast and a soggy predominantly lettuce salad with lots of albeit tasty dressing. Not likely to try again, a shame since they are around the corner from work.

Really disappointing. I don't recommend for breakfast at all - it looks so promising from outside, but there is no atmonsphere inside at all. The breakfast menu is dull and unimaginative - basically just eggs and toast. Over $50 dollars for two eggs benedict and two cups of coffee - massively overpriced. Poor presentation, badly poached eggs, the hollandaise sauce had split and bacon had been burnt to a crisp. Wobbly tables so coffee spilt. There are far better places to go for breakfast nearby, so I wouldn't bother going here - overall very disappointing.

Basing this solely on food. I can't comment on the coffee..so this review like will be based solely on the food.<br/><br/>The staff here are irritating hipters/hippies. I came here on Sunday afternoon around 3 30 pm, I was the only customer here.<br/><br/>The hippy woman at the front was clueless and unhelpful. Her insouciance with my presence was quite obvious, maybe because they were closing in half an hour. The glasses for water that had 'just been cleaned' were all dirty, one smelt of coffee.<br/><br/>Awful awful awful.<br/><br/>However, I ordered a juice (definitely tasted fresh and declicious)<br/><br/>and I also ordered the Organic beef burger.<br/><br/>This may be their saving grace because this burger was honestly superb. The beef was a generous size and it was cooked so well. There was a large amount of filling and the entire thing went perfectly together.

This is a great burger joint which is worth a Friday night visit, even before going for drinks across the road at The Brisbane. I would be interested in heading back to try it all day breakfast, as I feel the ‘organic’ ingredients lend itself well to the menu.

Top notch. Went for lunch with my fussy yoga instructor friend yesterday. The service was EXCEPTIONAL ( it's like being at your best friends place who owns a top restaurant for a relaxed lunch\dinner good)! Very friendly and warm atmosphere (Perth pay attention!) and the food was fantastic! I had the Tempeh burger (spot on) and my yoga instructor friend had the Nachos (she approved. Crisis over). We both tried the Health Nut juices which came served in large jars (nice touch). Everything was organic and locally sourced and the tab came to $44. I'm sold.

Terrible. Dropped in to Source Cafe on the way home for burger night. What a mistake. I had a steak burger which was supposedly organic, grain fed, premium quality etc. etc. and it was full of gristle, fat, and what was actually meat was tasteless and overcooked. Plus, we had to wait 50 mins for our food, on a not particularly busy night. Won't be going back.

The organic vegetarian options at the place are fantastic. <br/>It is wonderful to enjoy a great vegan burger whilst your friend enjoys a free-range beef and bacon burger. <br/>The service is very friendly and plesant. Not to mention, you won't wait too long for your meal.<br/>Unfortunately, more could be done with the space. The acoustics can be somewhat frustrating with the traffic constantly flowing past. If there are a loud obnoxious group of people the vib of the place and the amazing food is lessened. <br/>Overall, a good experience, but it depends on the crowd.

Burgers and BYO = great dinner!. I organised a group dinner for 15 people on a Friday night and contacted Source Foods Cafe to check the details and see whether there was any chance of organising a booking. Source don't usually do group bookings but were really helpful on organising a long set of tables for our group (complete with wine glasses for BYO!). The fries were really tasty, and everyone really enjoyed their burgers. I have quite a few vegetarian friends and they really appreciated having such a big choice of burgers. Thanks for a great dinner!!

A nice laid back place. I wouldn't go out of my way to return for breakfast, but they do burgers and live music on Friday nights which I'd like to try (although, it's a very small venue and if we didn't get a table I probably wouldn't stay - luckily the Brisbane is right across the road!)

Mighty tasty. That was a mighty fine tandoor chicken burger I had and Mr FatCat's beef burger seemed to hit the spot as well...and I can confirm that their claim that their burgers cure hangovers is indeed true. Well maybe not cure, but Mr FatCat managed to speak after his meal, which is more than he had managed most of the morning. I left feeling sated but not full. Will definitely be back for breakfast - the menu looked delicious

Dont like it. We had breakkie there yesterday and it was bad. the latte tasted off. I think there must be something wrong with the grinder so it just doesnt taste right. The scrambled egg and mushroom crostini bother came with bread taste like you get from cheap baker. The food is overpriced.

Thumbs up!. Every few months a bunch of my girlfriends get together. This time we picked Source Foods. Great coffee (I had 2), friendly staff and the food is fantastic. I had the tandoori chicken burger - delicious! Lots of salad and its obvious the owners use fresh ingredients.<br/>There was a steady stream of customers on a Saturday and the owners were very accommodating with our larger group. Thumbs up from all of our group - we will be back!

Nom nom nom..... I've been to Source twice now, once for brunch and once for a burger and was super impressed both times. Breakfast menu has nice variety and my veggie choice was a HUGE serving of delicious fresh food. Being pregnant I decided to try decaf coffee and was pleasantly surprised at how good it tasted (decent tasting decaf is hard to find). I do brunch most Sundays so have tried many other cafe's along Beaufort street and in this area and Source Foods is right up there as a favourite and one to visit again and again. <br/><br/>The Burger, oh my, I'm salivating now thinking of that delicious organic beef burger stuffed full of tasty fillings (try the roasted beetroot). Fries were fresh and crisp with a yummy seasoning. Banana smoothie - 10/10. Despite being stuffed full, went halves in a toasted banana muffin for desert. This is also a must try.<br/><br/>Service was very efficient and friendly. I'll be back.

Amazing coffee!. Recently enjoyed a girls breakfast at Source - location was brilliant, service efficient and friendly, mushrooms were delicious (and a very generous portion), and soy cap was amazing. Great morning was had by all and we will definitely be heading back there again and again!

My new favourite!. We visited Source Foods this week on the strong recommendation of a friend and are so pleased we did! The interior is quite simple but works well for the trendy vibe. Staff were very friendly and made great coffee - very tasty and the perfect temp. I enjoyed the Chicken Salad of the day which was a pesto chicken and plenty of greens. The serving size was very generous and I was left very satisfied, although i did make sure I left room for desert. My husband had the steak 'sandwich' which is actually served on a panini (organic) and the beef is organic too. He loved it and was also impressed with the size for the price. I couldnt resist one of the mini cheesecakes which I was told are made in house... loved it! <br/>Couldnt fault this place, love the simplicity, great well priced food and coffee. Will definately go back.

Finally visited this cafe for lunch after many recommendations and regret not eating there sooner. I have tasted a lot of steak sandwiches but would rate Source's as one of the best in Perth. Amazing Organic & Sustainable Food. When the burgers arrived, I was delighted to see they still looked the same. They are still super high and fresh salad seems to ooze out of the sides. I particularly love the bread. It is lovely white, soft, organic bread that Source manages to toast and butter in a way that makes my mouth salivate just by writing about it. The meat pattie tastes like real meat and is quite large in size. The "O" burger comes with organic Danderagan beef patties with roasted beetroot, carrot, tomato, local lettuce, fried onion, Source mayo (yum), and tomato relish. All this for a bargain $12.00.<br/><br/>The shoestring fries were a huge serving for $5.50. A and I happily ate to our hearts content and there were still some left over. The seasoning wasn't overpowering and the fries were fresh when they arrived at the table.<br/><br/>The service for the night was great. The waitress was extremely accommodating, helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was lovely, as always.<br/><br/>If you aren't interested in burgers, Source is also open for breakfast and lunch.<br/><br/>The place has a lovely relaxed vibe. The food is great quality and is a bargain price for the organic, sustainable food you get. The coffee is of an excellent standard and you'll be struggling to criticise Source after visiting.<br/><br/>Highly recommended.

Delicious!. Had breakfast here and really enjoyed it. I had the big eco, which had poached eggs on toast, spinach, a huge serve of grilled mushrooms and grilled tomato. Although I am an extreme carnivore the lack of meat in this big breakfast was not disappointing as every component tasted delicious; the spinach simple, fresh and tasty, the mushrooms plump and juicy, the tomatoes ripe and lightly grilled and the eggs were perfectly cooked with a lovely runny yolk. I had a flat white which was fine but I am not an avid coffee drinker so I can't really judge. My friend got the muesli which had a luscious mound of fruit and yoghurt over the top and was wonderfully presented. She ordered the zinger juice - apple, lemon, ginger and carrot but replaced the apple with orange juice and it was a really delicious and refreshing drink. We liked it so much we bought another to go!<br/><br/>Overall this was a cosy little cafe however I wouldn't rush back simply because it was quite pricey - my 'big' breakfast was $18 and while I did enjoy my meal I couldn't see myself splashing out this much money for breakfast too often; I do respect the fact that they are offering a premium organic range of foods and thus they have to charge more but yes, on my limited student budget 20 bucks for breakfast is a fair chunk of cheddar.

I'm always sceptical when it comes to food places advertising themselves as "organic" and "environmentally friendly" because - when it comes to it - these are all the big catch phrases when it comes to marketing these days.<br/><br/>After a bit of a wait for our food and after the first bite I took of the O-Burger...you can feel and taste the difference. With out a doubt. It's hard to describe but it tasted...pure - that's the only word I could really describe it.<br/><br/>Despite the smaller size of the place compared to other restaurants along Beaufort Street, I think it was an excellent choice for a relaxed afternoon lunch on a beautiful sunny day.

Disappointed. We went to this cafe hoping for some healthy interesting dishes. The menu lists standard breakfast dishes with no stand outs. Both our breakfasts and the coffees were very average. The dishes were also quite expensive. One plus was the freshly made juice.

A little disappointing. I have been to source foods a few times before, and it is usually fairly good. I went there today however and ordered the chicken salad special which was advertised with chicken tenderloins. When it arrived however, it was clearly not tenderloin, but very fatty chunks of thigh meat (most parts were inedible).When I notified the owner about this, he pretty much shrugged it off saying, oh, oops, and nothing more! I think it could have been handled a bit better, perhaps with an apology and an offer of a discounted meal on a following visit? $16 for a fatty thigh on salad is not very good value, lol. I probably won't go there again. Shame really.

Love it!. Started off with a few smoothies, which packed a flavour punch - fresh all the way here, would highly recommend the mango, absolutely amazing! The price was similar to what you'd pay at commerical smoothie places, but the quality is out of this world. <br/>Moved on to food, and ordered the tempeh burger. My eyes boggled when I say this come out, I'm amazed how it didn't fall over it was piled so high with carrot, lettuce, tomato, beetroot, onions, not to mention the generous slab of juicy tempeh and hommus. <br/>Also had one of the specials of the day, a beetroot salad, which was lovely and fresh. <br/>On a side note, we were really impressed with the service, particularly when after ordering and paying, my companion was advised that the special she had ordered, the vege stack, was no longer available. She wasn't fazed and ordered to chicken salad instead, which was $4 extra, but the management insisted no extra money was necessary. Just goes to show this place won't compromise on service for the sake of a few extra dollars. <br/>I was really impressed with this place - we whiled away a couple of hours here and the staff were pleasant and accommodating. Give it a try, as for me both the food and service was outstanding. Not to mention the feel-good factor of eating eco-friendly;)

Never disappoints!. I have lunched here a few times - eaten in and taken away. I'm always pleasantly surprised at the diversity of the daily specials menu and usually order something different every time. Let me tell you, it never disappoints! The food is always fresh, incredibly tasty and so worth the money. In fact, I think considering the thought and effort that goes in to making the food, as well as the quality of the ingredients and knowledge of staff make it pretty cheap for what it is.<br/>I think given the niche that they fill in the market, and the point of difference they offer, their fitout could be a little more eclectic. It would draw more attention to the place and could reflect/support the type of product they sell.<br/><br/>I also love the fair trade bottled water - I'll go out of my way just to buy that water!

The coffee is the best I've had in Perth.<br/><br/>Very high quality food - yummy salads, cakes, soups, burgers etc...all made in house.<br/><br/>Great for breakfast or lunch.<br/><br/>Best part, they are a cafe with a social and environmental conscience!
