The service here is ridiculously slow.. I would recommend avoiding having to walk in if possible. It seems like they will have people wait far longer then normal and on purpose all the employees are lazy and hate their jobs so be ready for their attitudes.. If you have to appear to court at 8:30AM you will end up walking out after 10 or 11AM!!

how could we schedule an appt when absolutely no one answers the phone? I called all day yesterday, waiting 10 minutes, 20 minutes- was disconnected multiple times, and still was unable to reach anyone to assist me? Who hires these incompetent people to run a dept in a courthouse? the lack of customer service and support is baffling.

Please NEVER get in any trouble in Pasadena! If you can't afford a private attorney you will be F'd, the public defenders in this courthouse does absolutely nothing for defendants. In fact they act like they work with the DA. I'll be seeking to retain a private attorney, because there's absolutely no way I'm leaving my brother's freedom in these people's hands. If the middle finger was an option for a rating, I'd gladly give 5 of them!

I was assigned judge pro temp Miguel Montes (attorney)for Small Claims 8/2/21 to hear my case. He did a stellar job with the proceedings and was knowledgeable with car injury claims. I was being served with a frivolous 10k lawsuit along with 2k medical bills. Pro temp judge Montes threw the case after listening to both sides (uninsured motorist). The entrance security and court assistants C Lee/ C Clawson were very professional . I represented myself but I would recommend you come with an attorney if warranted. There's paid parking a block away under $10. I don't recommend court telephone services they suck. I received the copies of the court ruling through USPS three days after the proceedings.

I called the Small Claims Dept. and spoke to female clerk who was not able to provide me information but will forward the information to the male clerk to call back to provide with status of the postponement. Never received a call. After 10AM, you can not reach anyone, and if you're lucky enough, your call will be routed back to recording and call is disconnected. I tried after 30 calls, a male answered and I hear the background that they were having a party!! during call hours! Bunch of lazy worthless clerks!

I’ve been here for several criminal and traffic court hearings, seen the public defenders, probation officers, and dealt with many clerks. I’m surprised to see all these bad reviews since I found this courthouse to be fine. We can’t expect the service to be spectacular when they’re dealing with criminals and angry members of the public paying fines and dealing with rather unpleasant experiences. But if you are polite and patient with the employees here, they will also be polite back. I’m glad I haven’t been here for a criminal case in about 8 years but when I was in and out of here in my late teens/early twenties, I had no problem with the judges, DA, public defenders, etc. I even was jailed here before one of the court hearings. Like I said, if you broke the law, don’t expect Hilton-quality service. We are usually there for our own mis-doings. Be responsible and have all your paperwork filled out properly, arrive early to all court hearings, DRESS RESPECTFULLY (I saw too many losers going to court in ghetto attire), always address people as “sir/ma’am”, or “your honor” to the judge. You’ll get back what you put in.
