What a fun evening. The duck was beautiful and delicious. The bread pudding was so good. The server was friendly and kept everything just right. I grew up in Opelika. I can't believe I've never been to this hidden gem less than a mile from my home. What a perfect little restaurant.

The menu is very small with the new ownership, and the food isn't as good as it used to be. I had the Snapper, which was a tad dry but still good. The artisan bread and hand churned butter was delicious, but the salad had very little dressing and the bread pudding looked like something you could have gotten at Sam's Club. It has potential, but what I got last night wasn't worth what I paid.

EDIT - I was pleased that management reached out and called me personally to discuss my initial review. Derrick seems motivated to make appropriate changes based on customer feedback. Since it can really put a damper on a night out to have to talk to management about a poor dining experience, I would encourage everyone to at least write a review of the restaurant here so they know what to improve on. Unlike some places, management is actively keeping up with these reviews to help the restaurant and its employees in the future. Increased to two stars..
I used to love this place before the fire last year, and it was easily my favorite restaurant in the Auburn/Opelika area. Last night, I was ecstatic to take my girlfriend here for the first time since it reopened. Unfortunately, we had an absolutely terrible dining experience. The menu has shrunken significantly, and we were told the kitchen was out of both beef tenderloin and lamb upon trying to order our entrees. Keep in mind that this was a Saturday night at 8:00PM. We were left with an option of chicken breast, quail, or salmon... Again, not much to choose from. So trying to give it a chance, we ordered drinks and "bread service," which used to be free. Apparently, four tiny pieces of burnt toast and a knob of butter is worth $3.00 + tax (wish I would've taken a picture), and our drinks took about 20 minutes to both come to the table. The entrees that we ordered (quail and chicken breast) were bland and would have easily been prepared at home for a quarter of the cost. I can't appropriately express how disappointed I am with how much quality this restaurant has lost over the past year. I'm hopeful that they'll regain their previous level of exceptional dining, but I won't be revisiting anytime soon. :(

Really enjoyable food and beer. The food is fresh and the menu changes slightly time to time. Everything we've had here has been delicious (love the tuna steak sandwich, the cuban, crab soup, wings, mussels in wine with leeks and carrots). The staff is knowledgeable and personable.
The beer is definitely unique, but worth the trip. For someone who likes a darker, malty beer, I recommend the Screaming Peacock or the Small Town Brown. They do rotate their beers and do keep the guests updated (I hate going to other places and the staff don't even know what they're serving).
On peak hours it does get crowded and service naturally slows down, but that's true anywhere.
Overall, this place is on our "regular to go places" list and I would highly recommend trying it. Bartender John is awesome!

First off the decor and the atmosphere is quiet frankly strange. Nothing matches and it definitely doesn’t match the menu and the pricing. I ordered salmon that was cold and seasonless. The steak was “okay” and the bread was good. Next, we ordered a dessert that apparently was NOT on the menu anymore and then found out the whole dessert menu that was on the back of the cocktail menu was invalid and “old”. Not sure why they would still allow a menu to be put on a table without explaining the inaccuracy of it. None of this has been a problem if the prices here weren’t the most expensive in the auburn/opelika area. NOT WORTH IT

The food is still great. They claim an extensive wine list and the list is impressive but doesn't match their inventory. We've been there about five times in the last two years and each time the wine inventory is less.

Our experience began with "ha" the host didn't understand my name which is quite alright but a nice greeting is a great way to make customers feel welcome. They have a very good wine selection, an attractive menú and atmosphere.
The food was good but not oustanding. For my entrée I ordered crab cakes and I was very disappointed. They served two very small cakes breaded without crab and plenty mushed potatoes and broccoli and of course I complained and got a free desert.. The waiter was very nice.
