Firecakes Donuts

Really good donuts! The lemon curd one & the vanilla one were the freshest. The chocolate was a bit stale & the passionfruit W brûlée topping was very good but was not as soft as the other ones. I came around 3 so it was later in the afternoon. I got the mini ones & they were perfect ($2.50 each). I’d return earlier in the day to get the fresher donuts & pick from a bigger selection.

Very hot coffee and cold, hard donuts. Kind of a harsh morning. Not feeling donut love.I’m sure this will be easily remediated once this oak park location could make their donuts in house I think that really will add to the dynamic doughnut experience /it’s just a little bit too precious. Not feeling warm fuzzy vibes either.I kind of feel like early morning shift people need to be a little bit more warm but that’s just me. It’s hard to be a morning person I understand. But I’m paying for quality donuts. I guess that’s all I’m paying for. The coffee is on point. The best thing about this morning and this place is the coffee. Be careful it’s piping hot.

Love the donuts from this place. They always come out great. They are a little pricey so I like to save it for surprising my boyfriend for a good morning start :) I like that they serve a small selection of paczkis for Fat Tuesday AND a few days after. I totally missed the rush to get my order in ahead of time so I was happy I could order some the day after.
