Chuy's

My husband and I had recently visited Chuy's for our anniversary lunch. Our experience was great! The only thing I was disappointed about was the menu was half the size as it was 3 years ago and my boyfriend ordered the cheese enchiladas but there was hardly any cheese in it. Other than that everything was great!

The waiter told us there was no queso and he recommended another substitute and said it was vegetarian and we looked up what was in the boom boom sauce and it was not vegetarian. He didn’t know the basic thing about how to treat guest with silverware or plates and asking if we needed or wanted any tortillas. He sold me guacamole and then told me they were out after I ordered my food. It was the reason i ordered it. No discount or asked to change what i wanted. They were also out of to go cups and only had baby cups. I wont be coming back after this. It was good before but the place has changed. So has the guest service.

Here is a quick guide if you’re considering eating at Chuy’s. On a scale from 1-10. This is not Mexican food. It’s definitely TexMex and a bit pricey. Location- 8 Accommodating hostess- 9 Friendly Staff- 8 Cleanliness- 9 Fun environment- 6 Helpful wait staff- 8 Quality of Ingredients- 7 Portion sizes- 8 Flavor of recipes- 6 Overall TexMex flavor- 7 Authentic Mexican Flavor- 3 Overall Value- 3 We love Mexican food. This is not Mexican food. If you like TexMex you will probably like it. It was $45 + tip for me and my wife. I think that is extremely expensive.

I'm not one to post reviews but after the past two times I've attempted to eat here I feel like it's necessary to point out. So about maybe a month ago I came here to eat at maybe 3:00pm ish which I know service is typically slow which I understand but we walk in and stand at the front to get a table and no one shows up. I think we gave it like 5 minutes and left because the wait staff just looked at us and kept doing their thing. Okay so we're like it's a one off and we attempt to go there again over the weekend. The hostess seated us but no one ever showed up after we were seated, like I understand you get your chips and drink and wait for the server to come by but nope, just us sitting there with our menus and utensil packs only. I timed it and it was 17 minutes and then we decided to leave. Yes you might wonder why we were that dumb to wait that long but we were really just seeing how far it would go at that point plus we were visiting anyway. I waved at a waitress to get her to swing by and nope she was in her own world and like no response. Other wait staff like never looked in our direction and followed their section walk paths like we were in the phantom zone or something. I understand wait staff are overworked and underpaid right now but it'll probably be a long, long time before I try eating here again.

Queso with beef is amazing but I would get the medium the small is so tiny. The beef fajitas, chicken tacos, rice and beans were so amazing but the steak burrito looks like gravy is all in it and it’s super spicy and gross. The t shirts here are super soft and amazing. The employees were very nice Update -I called and spoke to the manager-Jerry he was so nice and he is replacing the meal. I would not have called but that meal was so bad, so spicy and none of the 5 adults here ate it. It went in the trash
