I'm not sure what has happened to Samies. It used to be so consistently great. Today, we got the Salt and Pepper Calamari & Crumbed Fish and paid extra for thick cut - beer battered chips. The calamari was $11.90 and TINY and undercooked. I couldn't finish it because it was so terrible. The Fish and Chips weren't much better, they had put a few thick cut chips scattered over the top of the cheap chips which were so so bad. So disappointing!!

Really noticed a drop in quality since my initial review. Had fish and chips here. Crumbed calamari was outstanding. Prawn cutlet was more bread than prawn. Won't be getting the cutlets again unless they modify the recipe. Fresh fish is always great.

Great to have easy place to buy fish & chips. We had octopus takeaway and was great. Also had easy potato scallops plus calamari in a seperate visit. Good to have a local shop that has this available so close for people located on the north side.

Decided to get our seafood fix tonight but honestly So rude ! No service let alone personality (Asian girl).honestly the other girls that usually cook on weekends amazing every time spot on 👌even remembers my name has a chat while very busy. Now that’s service the Asian girl should not be In hospitality.

See this lovely foods,
I love this shop's fish and chips.
I can not find better fish and chips than this place in my opinion.
Crumbed hoki and battered mullets were enoughly crispy, see that colour perfect golden brown. And the grilled baby octopus was melted in my mouth enoughly chewy and sweet.
I had lovely dinner today thanks to this shop
I wish this place stay forever for me and my wife.

Been here numerous time now.
Now that's value. $10 fish and chips (hoki). Even Comes with the sauce! Tried the barramundi as well.
The photo with the coke is the $40 family pack - 4 hoki, 8 calamari, chips and the drink! The crumbed fish is the better option for takeaway.
Only problem is the parking.

The best seafood in Hamilton. More variety with higher quality seafood at cheaper pries than their nearby competitors. Good staff service. The new store is much better than the old store down the road. This new store has outdoor seating on a quiet road, fully undercover. Unlimited free water, sauces, salt & pepper satchels and cutlery. Great place to go on weekends to relax and unwind.

Super disappointed with my visit today. If it wasn’t for the guy in the fresh seafood department who greeted me this easily could have been a 1 star review. The staff in the cooked area how ever weren’t friendly at all and made me feel bad for not knowing what cane in the barramundi meal. Which I was highly disappointed paying $20 later to receive little chips a piece of fish that had raw batter where it was put into the fryer folded and a bucket of very mediocre slaw. I will not be in a rush to return to this place any time soon unless it was for fresh seafood to do it myself. Fish tasted like nothing besides oil 👎🏻
