The Good Bar

Attended during the week to take advantage of the cheap Wednesday bucket 🪣 of chicken wings and we were not left disappointed. Hardly any gluten free options which was a shame but it is a traditional burger joint so... Food came out pretty quickly and a nice selection of cocktails were on the menu. Staff were really nice and engaging. Will be going back to sample the rest of the menu at some point hopefully with more GF options.

Drove from Brisbane to Mooloolaba on a Wednesday night to pick up a fridge and it didn't fit in my car so I decided to make the most of it and grab dinner. I ordered the Biggie burger, was pretty good. If I had to be brutally honest the chicken in the burger wasn't the best I've had. Dirty fries were good. Not many beers on tap, so I just had a ginger beer. Service was probably the best part of the experience.

2022 update. Oh boy, what a difference a couple of years makes! We've been to good bar every time we've been to Mooloolaba beach but this time around what a disappointment. Not sure if it's different management or staff but we are unlikely to return. Came here with the family on a Tuesday without realising it was trivia night. Several of the tables and booths had reserved signs on them, which was fair enough. We made sure to choose a booth that had no sign on it, sat down ordered a couple of drinks and were looking forward to dinner and trivia. 20 minutes later a staff member came up and told us we'd have to move as a booking they had was updated after the fact to include a 3rd booth which, surprise, surprise was ours... And to top it off we were to be moved to the opportunists side of the restaurant. I questioned why we were being moved to other side of the restaurant and were told that she didn't know why there was no reserved sign but she was adamant it was placed...i doubt it. Our alternative location for 4 people was either crammed into a small alcove or outside in the cold... After explaining this want reasonable she advised is that she'd speak to her manager and get back to us...we waited, and waited, guess what?, nothing happened so we walked away disappointed. What a shame that things have gone downhill in terms of service. We won't be returning.

The restaurant had a great appearance, I was excited to try American style burgers. Unfortunately it was not a great first experience as a couple we waited at the door as per the signs instructions while employees were behind the bar and no one came to seat us. The atmosphere and customer service was truly lacking for what the appearance of the place was trying to perceive. I understand government mandates and having to follow the guidelines however I feel if the need to verify identity with check in and proof of vax is required so heavily at this restaurant that these politics should be followed through to back of house, the entire kitchen team did not have masks on during the hour we were there. Soggy burger bun due to excess oil so couldn’t finish my burger. Overall not worth the price due to soggy meals and poor customer service. This restaurant does have so much potential though.

Visit Good Bar every time my partner and I travel to Mooloolaba and its never failed to please. Two memorable experiences included getting involved with one of their trivia nights - hilarious host & really fun night, and our first visit where one of the bar tenders was extremely knowledge on gins and served us some great combinations plus spent time chatting us through the flavours, combos and where the gins came from. Food has always been good quality whether it be burgers or wings and never had to wait for an unreasonable amount of time. See you next time Good Bar!

Had the Yankee Pig & Hot Chicken Sandwich with a side of fries. Both were great in flavour, chips were hot, crunchy and fresh cooked. Both were a tad messy and my only recommendation would be maybe slice the chicken a bit thinner to make it easier to handle without falling apart. Will definitely be coming back and this place is great for hangovers.
