Thai Lotus

We ate here on a Sunday night, reserved table for 7.30. Food was nice enough. I ordered Spicy Noodles but they were not spicy at all. My daughter ordered Thai Green Curry Beef with extra spice. It was mild spicy so both meals were very disappointing. The staff started packing up, moving tables and chairs around us while we were still eating at 8.00pm which was very rude. When I commented on this as I paid the account I got a shoulder shrug and was told ‘that’s what we do’. What we do is ‘never go back’.

We went there for dinner and food was fantastic. We ordered Coconut rice, Cashew nut chicken, and Pad See Eiw. I must say coconut rice was one of the best that I ever had. This place is cheap and I am happy with the portion size. We enjoyed our food and will definitely visit again. Location is not far from the Esplanade also parking is available. However, our service was very slow and the restaurant is quite small with indoor and outside seating areas. The ambience is relaxed and average. The takeaway portion is small. Less meat and more veggies.

This used to be the go to Thai place on the Sunshine Coast. I would always recommend this restaurant but after being served raw food I now beg to differ. Ordered two takeaway meals and an entree. The entree of wontons was average but the main meal of massaman beef curry was horrendous. There were two very reasonable sized chunks of beef in the meal (as usual) and cutting through one you could see an excessive amount of blood and it was blatantly obvious it was not cooked. The other chunk of meat was cooked. Before we realised the food was undercooked we noted that the taste of the food was not right. Massman curry usually has that distinctive flavour and this tasted nothing like it should. Very let down considering how good this place used to be.
