Let me start off by saying I’m not from the area so I did my best research to find the most highly rated crab cakes in the area to see if they lived up to the hype. The answer is a resounding yes. The crab cakes were very dense and flavorful. I could eat one a day. Paired with the Potato Salad and House Fries made for a memorable meal. I will definitely be returning to this establishment.

best crab cake and fried calamari I have ever had. The fried calamari use fresh calamari to cook very juicy and light fried made it perfect. Crab cake made by jumbo blue crab meat with 8oz size. Each dish is very large portion. Must take a try restaurant. The manager is super friendly

It's off the beaten path and away from all the hype surrounding the Harbour. The service was undeniably 5-Star. The food was the best seafood I've had since childhood!! Fresh REAL LUMP CRAB CAKES and the Crab dip is an experience you'll never forget. The fries had the wonderfully perfect balance of crisp outside and tender center. I was delighted by the sauteed mixed veggies that included squash and zucchini. The Dockside Punch was very tasty, with the perfect portion and just the right amount of alcohol (not overpowering nor too little). We will be back from Pennsylvania VERY SOON!!

Crabcake oversized and delicious well worth the price. Service was spotty, given they were so busy give a bit of pass there. Lobster tail slightly overcooked a bit on the mushy side. Grilled asparagus was fantastic.

I love coming here. They have the best crab cakes in the area. The staff is always super friendly and the food is AMAZING! I’ve been multiple times and I have never been disappointed. The atmosphere and ambiance are good. The price is fair, especially the since the portion shines are pretty large.

Friday night dinner date. Arrived after 8pm and was seated right away. Ordered crabcake sandwich platter, chicken cordon bleu, asian fried brussels and an oreo cake. Everything was really good! One of the best crabcakes! Good portions!!! Again, everything was delicious!!!!! So much on the menu to choose from. Spacious and nice atmosphere. Our server was awesome (Marco). Of course we will be back to try more! 😋

The food, cost, and service we received for my birthday dinner were great. We reserved a space for 20 guests it was clean and spacious from others that weren't with us. That was my second time there, I will be returning for future visits.

Go to seafood spot in Essex that I've been hitting for years. Never had anything less than a bangin meal here. I've been all over the menu and everything is well done, including non seafood items. Was there for Easter Sunday lunch and had the Seafood Diablo. The rest of the table had crab cakes which is kind of a By The Docks signature. Only knock is when it gets busy it gets loud and when you're waiting for your table the "lobby" area isn't sufficient in terms of space. I'm splitting hairs on that one. Personal preference and hardly a deal breaker. Staff is well informed and cordial as well. Great seafood with a neighborhood feel to it.
