Lunchbox Eats

My hubby and I went to this place with some friends 5 yrs ago and I recently went back with my best friend on our girls' trip and the food was consistently amazing. I ventured out and tried something different the 2nd time around but the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, and the service was good.

We had the fish tacos and seafood flat bread, both were good. We asked for chipotle sauce and added it to both tacos and flat bread which stepped the tacos up one notch to really good. The place is fun to go to, quirky decor. Service was surprisingly slow at 11:15 am. Maybe kitchen was still ramping up.

Took four coworkers here because they'd never heard of it -- surprised at how this place stays under the radar. The food is delicious and everything has an unusual twist. This place is only open for lunch on weekdays and I think brunch is added on weekends --has elusive yet real downtown free parking(!) near the FedEx Forum. Theme is cute--kind of kitschy school cafeteria. Food is not low-cal but WORTH the splurge!! My favorite is the chicken and grids (chicken and waffles) -- the waffles are very light with crisp edges and have some kind of delicious cheese cooked in them. Get the mustard dip to go with. I also ordered two sides as appetizers-- one was blue cheese cornbread that was cooked like a Johnny cake and also got the spinach artichoke dip with freshly made chips ml. Everyone raved over these. All said they were bringing spouses to check this place out. Order the lemonade of the day. You won't be sorry--instagram perfect!
