Cafe Bella

Should have trusted the stars and given it a miss, but two other cafes around were closed . Encountered the most unfriendly staff in this Melbourne trip, from barista to counter and service staff. Looked like they were forced to come in to work and were actually sulking and unhappy. Food wasn't bad though - coffee wasn't the greatest. I do not recommend the place.

Nice enough place, but a bit pricey for what you get. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant, but only maybe 1/3 of the croissant had any cheese or ham on it. Disappointing. But it was still delicious. The friendly service by all behind the counter really made up the difference though, and is the reason my rating isn’t lower. The cafe was quite dirty when I came in, and remained that way for at least half an hour. Probably something that could be fixed with better staffing (more staff there) and the food could probably be improved by better quality control.

This cafe is a little gem. It's never too packed so you can have a good catch up with friends without being thrown out after 45 mins because they want your table. The food is delicious and pricing is reasonable with any other cafe. What I loved especially is on public holidays they don't charge the 15% surcharge fee. I'll be back soon.

Good coffee, food came out very quickly and the decor/design is beautiful. It had a great menu, although they had run out of the juice I wanted (it does not have freshly made juices just Keri bottled juice) and only one of us got brought a serviette and knife and fork, the other had to go get their own which was weirdly inconsistent. Otherwise great!

Finally they open dinner! Went there and try their pork tenderloin and tiramisu. It was so good especially the Gorgonzola sauce! Amazing flavor plus big portion, I couldn’t finish the tiramisu, like four times bigger than normal dessert size, perfect for sharing with friends and family. Great place if you live around Southbank, need a coffee or some dinner at night! Defiantly will come back again!

Really poor service and very disappointing. We were staying at Crowne Plaza and looking for somewhere for breakfast. Cafe Bella advertises they are open until 2pm but they stop cooking at 1pm. The staff were very unapologetic and a bit rude. They gave the impression we were bothering them by coming in and trying to spend money at the establishment during business hours. We went to the French Patisserie across the road - great food and friendly service!

Please work on customer service as it is beyond shocking. I ordered coffees and came back from my table which was directly infront of the counter 30 seconds later to ask for them in takeaway cups and asked what my table number was and then told it was to late as they were already being made. cant see why it is so hard to pour them into a papercup? poached eggs just taste like vingear and the serving size is pretty pathetic for the price.
