Bar Refuge

Great local spot off the beaten path. Interesting and fun decor, part beachy, part rock, part... Something. The food, while somewhat standard bar food (with a few notable exceptions), is pretty solid. Nice beer choices, $1 jello shots, and great service. It'll most likely go into my regular rotation when in town.

Fun decor and a nice clean establishment. Not the greatest beer selection, but not terrible either. The tacos were a hit with the group I went with and I enjoyed their chicken avocado BLT. Our group was 15 people and we didn't call ahead so it took about 45 minutes before we all had food. Our server was friendly and attentive and keep up on our drinks.

I just discovered this place and must say I'm coming back repeatedly. Have already recommended it to a bunch of people.The place is decorated so carefully and with so much interesting stuff. Happy hour seems interesting both as per drinks and appetizers. Their watermelon sangria and crab dip tots are amazing! Check out the bathroom, it's pretty cool.

The food is awesome! Very fairly priced for creative and delicious choices. I can't wait to try the Hawaiian inspired items. Service is great. Eric, the bartender, was so excited about the whole place, food, etc that it was contagious and I can't wait to go back when I have enough time to stay and enjoy it. It's a new place. They're figuring out specifics. It's not perfect, and might not ever be but, it's an awesome place with great food and great people who love what they do. P.S. Check out the bathrooms. They're awesome! There's heart and soul at Bar Refuge. I'd much rather go there than a whole lot of other places downtown. I'm picky. It's a bit more sophisticated than some people are ready for.
