Double Tap Grill

This place has a lot going for it. The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. Everything is clean and there are lots of Highwaymen paintings decorating the walls. Our server was prompt and friendly. We both ordered the daily special of BBQ Smash Burger. It came with one side so we got Garlic Fries and the house salad. The salad was too large to fit on the plate so our server brought a larger one. The burgers were impressive! 2 patties with pulled pork, lettuce, tomato, pickles, fried onions and cheddar cheese. The burger was delicious without everything else, which made it even better. It was so large, we had to eat it with a knife and fork. And the garlic fries were delicious too. This is one of the better places to eat in the Melbourne area. We will be back to try more menu items. They have outdoor seating for those nice days and a full liquor bar.

Not sure what’s happened to the food here, but I’m not sure I can go back. I’ve given it 10 tries in the last few months and the food keeps getting worse. The Chili was good, now it’s brown water meat soup and anything fried is way overcooked. The service is always great - friendly and probably the only reason I’ve given it so many opportunities. 5 stars for service. It pains me to leave this review, but IMO, it’s time for a menu overhaul and kitchen QC.
