True Texas Bbq

The picture is a two meat plate. The brisket is fork tender and juicy, the sides are good and the sausages tastes like…. Sausage :). I was t thrilled with the “moist” brisket that is half solid fat but I’ll know to order lean only next time. The brisket portion is disappointing with only two slices. For $15 I’d hope for a little more meat.

Have been coming to this HEB for years and the True Texas BBQ restaurant always smells delicious. After being influenced by an Instagrammer, my husband and I stopped in for a late lunch. I ordered the turkey macaroni. The turkey was fine but the mac and cheese was definitely not my fave. The texture was very soft and it was lacking much flavor. My husband ordered a 2 meat plate. The sausage and brisket were just okay. The sides were very generous servings, and he enjoyed the baked beans and the potato salad. We felt like the portions of the food were decent but we felt let down by the taste. If you don't like sweet BBQ sauce, you're out of luck here. Finally, for being a quiet afternoon with mostly HEB store employees on lunch break in the restaurant, I would have appreciated if the tables were clean.

I first reviewed True Texas BBQ 3 years ago and I'm still just as happy. They offer fun specials, great beer and catering. I've used the now for multiple events and even our Thanksgiving! I love the quality and.flavor. I'm impressed at the lack of significant price increase even though the cost of everything has risen so dramaticly.you simply can't beat True Texas BBQ !

Here we go with another review from my expertise as an experienced traveler The Place was super clean, tables separated appropriately, utensils were given by a dispenser which was a great touch, free soda refills, plenty of napkins, the taste of the spicy sauce incomparable and the brisket melts in your mouth as tender as it was cooked to perfection. Prices were fair. I ordered 1 meat which came with two sides I ordered bbq beans which were super delicious and a coleslaw which was tasty as well, they give you two slices of bread in a plastic bag which was great pickles and onions. Customer service was just so-so , not bad just dry and down to business you know no smiles just what it was which could get better if they really want people to come back, I didn’t feel welcomed much, the meat was on the small size portion in my opinion, I got 4 slices of pickles which were also not much this is the only reason why I’m giving four stars, if I pay 12 for a meal I expect a little more meat . Hopefully they pick up the act and continue with this great food place. Note; the bad things I mentioned didn’t stop me from enjoying my meal, just mentioned them for them to get better.

Not what I expected. It's my fault I didn't do more research so I'm the one to blame but this place is a far cry from true Texas barbecue. Totally commercialized and it definitely tastes like it. Presentation and flavor is mediocre at best and I recommend not to get the potato salad or the coleslaw because I think they get it from the H EB. The sweet tea tastes like my brother's kids made . I won't come back.
