One of the best brisket and ribs that I’ve had in my life! But the sausage totally not my style; I couldn’t even take a second bite… it’s worth the experience and their prices are sooo decent ; :) I’d definitely go back for more!

First timers. Had to figure it out. No one greeted us when we walked in. After we got our bearings we got the ribs and a couple of sausage links. They were an excellent addition to our picnic at the park. The restroom was scary as hell all covered in graffiti. Bring cash.

I stopped in 30 minutes before close mid-week. It wasn't very busy and mostly locals coming in for takeout. Brisket was tasty but a bit dry. There is 1 type of available sauce only. Potato salad was average fair in a pre-made cup. Sausage was not my favorite. They are made fresh daily, they said, so that is good. Definitely filling and an average BBQ stop for a stop in Luling between Houston and San Antonio. I may have caught them at a tough time, not sure. I'd stopped in Luling before for BBQ but not here, and it was a better experience previously. That staff was barely social during my visit. Small town feel, without warm hospitality.

Texas BBQ at its FINEST & as an authentic Texas BBQ establishment as it comes. This place doesn’t change and Thank 🇨🇱Goodness😋! A pound of lean juicy brisket, a tasty sausage link and two meaty, crispy outside, juicy, meaty ribs was plenty for two to share. Add a huge dill pickle, onions, the freshest white bread, small sides of potato salad and pinto beans de la olla and a Texas Dr Pepper & WoW what an incredible carnivorous Texas experience. CASH only folks but there's an ATM handy inside the dining room. Start by going to the back of the dining room first, select and pay cash for your weighed selection of meats then head to a table or booth. The sides, drinks ( no beer unfortunately😕) candy, t-shirts and BBQ sauce are available at the front cashier. All service was friendly and accommodating with the guys in the back inviting photos. Although near Luling is near Lockhart, I cannot bring myself to try any other BBQ place on the Texas BBQ Mecca Trail. This place is the Pinnacle!

This is a long standing Texas BBQ and listed as one of the 10 best according to Texas Monthly. We arrived at about 10:30am to make sure they still had meat. Interesting how the meat ordering is done in a separate, dark, smoky room near the pit, that is also where you pay for the meat. The aroma was Texas BBQ. Your sides are ordered in a separate part of the restaurant. Meat is served on traditional butcher paper, with your choice of pickles, onions and white bread. The ribs were excellent, the brisket was average, displayed an excellent bark, but was somewhat dry. Sausage was smoky but very average. Their BBQ sauce had an excellent, while not overpowering flavor. Baked beans were very good. Wish I had ordered more ribs than I did. I would recommend City Market and I would eat there again. The staff was super nice.

Listen: I've had Carolina style BBQ, having lived in that neck of the woods for a spell and lemme just say, hands down some of THE best BBQ I've ever had. And the sauce, well, it IS the best I've ever had and I'm not just blowing smoke (pun intended). Cash Only (they have an ATM) and you gotta try the sausages!! 11/10

Just like I remember it. This is Central Texas BBQ as it should be: brisket, ribs and sausage on butcher paper. High quality meat without a whole lot of frills. You're probably going to wait in a bit of a line, but it's going to be worth it. City Market is an institution and it brings me back to eat here.

Great BBQ in Luling. I had the brisket was nice and moist. The sausage was flavorful and the pork rib was tender and nicely smoked. I'll stop again next time I'm driving through. P.S. makes sure you have cash. That was a rookie mistake for me.
