Balcone is a gem. With so many other places (mostly chains) to choose from in the area, it's easy to miss. But this little shop is a mainstay and every coffee is made with care - they know everything there is to know about their wines and beers, too. Don't miss this great (if tiny) East London treasure.

Best coffee around! The owners are super friendly and down to earth - good people - really care about quality products and ingredients. The homemade baked goods are top notch, I will always crave the choc-banana bread. Great knowledge of their wine selection, always make a great recommendation when we’re unsure. The fridge is always packed with a delightful selection of beers - my goal is to sample them all. Would rate them higher if only I could.

It's simply one of the best coffee shops in Hackney. Really, they do great coffee. It's also a carefully curated grocery, where each bottle of wine, beer and food is chosen with a keen and discerning eye. The owners are lovely people, proud to call it my local coffee shop!

The best focaccia found in a small shop and surprisingly not overpriced like most places. Will def come back to try more. Very friendly guy at the counter

I was looking for somewhere different to grab some coffee from and noticed Balcone was highly rated and on my route. Really friendly staff who showed me their fantastic selection of products, including alcohol free beer 🤩 My husband says the coffee is delicious! Thanks 🙏

When it comes to coffee in this area, it's hard to get something reasonably priced, fast and most importantly... tasting exceptionally good. Every other coffee shop in the area suffers from either poor tasting coffee, lines out the door, slow service, rude staff... the list goes on. Here at Balcone, you get quality coffee that leaves you wanting more. So support your local coffee shop, get away from the chains and tuck into some quality beans. They also do Wine of an evening... I'll report back about that one. **yep wines bloody great**

Just moved to the area and was in need of a good local coffee shop and Balcone is incredible. Not only do they make incredible coffee, they stock lots of different roasters on rotation. Being able to pick up Cat and Cloud (at a super reasonable price) is incredible!
