Tropical Smoothie Cafe

Ordered food online and was ready before stated time. Both flatbreads - chicken bacon ranch and shrimp goddess - were tasty but not even warm. The kale salad had a few brown pieces of apple and kale in it. However, both smoothies - the Bahama Mama and Green island Detox - were on point. Had the flatbreads been at a more pleasing temperature and fresher kale and apples in the salad the rating would have been higher.

Picked up dinner for my family this evening and my wife’s Baja Chicken Wrap was totally inedible. The wrap fell apart as soon as she took it out of the wrapper, the chicken was chewy, the lettuce was BROWN, basically rotten, and the whole thing tasted off. The smoothies were tasty but management needs to crack down on rotating food and monitoring the freshness of their ingredients, especially their lettuce. Shame on anyone, and any establishment that thinks serving lettuce this far gone is acceptable!

So tonight my boyfriend and I went into the University location at 852pm. I placed my order and then my boyfriend waited to place his. The lady that placed my order never took his order but went right to making my order with the other two ladies already in the kitchen. Ibasked had he placed his order and he said no and should he said no the lady hadn't come back to the register. So when he asked if he could place his order he was told they are now closed. What!!! We were in the restaurant before 9! A lady with braids came behind us and turned off the open sign. I placed my order! So then the lady with long braids got an attitude and mumbled under her breath that she was going for this or something to that nature, and proceeded to the register to say again they are. Closed and the registers shut down at 859pm. Sooooo very rude. We were floored. My boyfriend even stated how rude the lady was, then she responded ok what do you want to order? I was just again stunned at her attitude. He just walked out and I grabbed my prepared order which was leaking and not what I had ordered. So unprofessional. We will NEVER visit this location again. Not sure who the manager is but there was definitely a lack of leadership skills tonight. No offer to come back with a gift certificate or something for the confusion. My Boyfriend was just overlooked by the cashier and then was given an attitude by the lady with braids. She didnt care. We want to go home too!! I mean He stood at the register waiting to place his order which never happened. Wow that's all I can say. And they made my smoothies poorly and my Sante Fe Quesadilla was just thrown together 🤨

***Have yet to GO... But I came across coupons for TSC via RedPlum despite my strong inclination to be removed from the mailing list! The Detox Island Green smoothie looks like it's JUST what I need-I have Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity (NCGS) and am purging all the gluten and sugar and GMOs from my system+diet. Ginger is SO good for you but at this point I'm just beginning to turn things around so I want to wait until I see more progress to get smoothied up and risk being redundant when I'm still phasing my mortal food enemies from my kitchen! The 3.99 any smoothie coupon will come in handy when I'm ready though!

I finally was convinced to try out a Tropical Smoothie drink for the first time yesterday. I have to admit that I loved their service, and not only that but I drunk my smoothie within the next two exits. So with that being said, I gave this restaurant five stars because of it's excellent service and quality of products!
