Bill's Kitchen

This owner as made a new treasure here in Leavenworth. The atmosphere was phenominal and the lady who waited on me was very attentive. The owner came out to personally greet me and seemed very friendly with the other patrons. They were very busy close to close. The other patrons seemed pleased and content with their food. As for me, I started with the fried shrimp. They were served hot, cooked to order. I can tell they didn't sit for long. They had flavor to rival any seafood restaurant. For my main course, I chose the three ribs meal. Unlike some BBQ places, Bill's Kitchen does not soak their ribs in sauce before serving. They had a good flavor that lasted. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I had the chicken and waffles which were delicious. In fact I the waffles were so good that I didn't even use syrup on them. The chicken tenders were cooked to perfection and were very juicy. The sweet tea wasn't quite 'Southern Sweet Tea' but it's one of closest I've tasted in the area. One of my friends swears by the gizzards here. The staff was also as friendly and helpful as you could hope for.

The place smells of old oil spatter that had been left to mildew. The crab cakes were soggy and tasted more of generic *fish* than crab. My 3 rib plate was definitely not fresh. The meat was at best made the day prior, but more likely several days ago. The Mac and cheese and the pickle slices are the only parts I could not complain about. For the price of the food, the quality was as off-putting as the smell. The waitresses I spoke with were both nice.

I enjoy a good gizzard,and was told that they were excellent here. I went there and ordered some to go. The owner was there and we started talking about his menu. I asked if he made the sides in house and he told me yes he did.I asked about other items, and he answered all my questions. The gizzards came out and he asked me to try one. I tried one and they were delicious. Best I have ever eaten. My wife and I are going back for dinner. I will post dinner results later.
