Good portions.. chicken pad Thai was different with unique flavor, not the regular one with peanuts…

Best Vietnamese food in town bar none. Not the cheapest but the cheaper places always have lower quality ingredients and simpler flavours. Ben Thanh is consistently delicious and just such high quality. I’m sure the Thai food and the dim sum they have is good but the Vietnamese food is SO good I haven’t been able to bring myself to try anything else yet. But some of those Thai curries smell out of this world good.

Fantastic food, and a delightful whistling robot delivers food to your table.
The attentiveness of the wait staff is hit-and-miss though. Some visits require huge amounts of gymnastics to flag down a waiter just to ask for cutlery, other times they are quick and on the ball.
The in-person experience is massively enhanced by how happy that little robot is to deliver food to the tables!

Extensive menu with lots of variety, nice decor and good tasting food. However, service efforts can definitely be improved. They are not rude but don’t try to make you feel welcome in any way. It’s like you walk in, write what you need, eat and go. We had a few questions for our server but she neither gave any answers or attempted to show that she cared. In the end, we had to decide for ourselves and stick with what we knew. I have heard good about the Waterloo location so will give that a try as well.

I love the pho at Ben Thanh, but they have so many other delicious dishes. It was quiet on our visit, with lots of room in the dining area. We were surprised to see a serving robot as well... A tune humming, tray carrying R2-Eat2. That was almost with the price of admission 🙂

Went back for the first time in a few years. The food is still pretty good, but a lot of the previous items are no longer on the menu and the service is gone down. You fill out a form and a robot delivers your food. Not that great in terms customer service.

It's going down hill, used to be a lot better! Some of the garnish and extras for the pho that were always fresh are definetly not as fresh anymore. Cpvid has done a number on the quality here. Ramen is looking like a better option every day

Food is good, only one server/busboy/bartender that was working from 530 -730. And they also had the robot that plays the same jingle as it brings out the appetizers. Service is bad. If your not in a hurry, or not ordering anything spicy.
