Went in Saturday June 9th around 130pm to get some bagels. I saw a bin with the bagels I wanted and asked the man working if I can get some bagels. INSTANTLY his tone is aggressive and starts yelling there right there, I asked him if I was suppose to get them and he was so rude. With COVID I never packed my own bagels, didn't know it was a thing. I even asked him why he was yelling at me. What a total joke, I will never step foot in there again. By reading other reviews I can see this isn't the first complaint with how staff treat customers. ADIOS

A great spot to buy Montreal Style Bagels. Love their sour dough bread as well. Make sure you bring cash though.

You may not come to Kitchener and not give this place a try. City Café is uniquely KW's best spot for fresh baked goods. Served co-op style in a cash only honour system, there is no more welcoming place to grab a quick bite and and coffee. Try the pizza too.

I think the honour system is really great, creates a personal feeling and connection. I love the outside seating area, very tidy and inviting. My toddler and I loved it! By far the best BUTTER TARTS ever!!!!!!! It's also the only thing I've tried here but holy wow! I bet everything is as delicious. PLEASE TRY THE BUTTER TARTS. As others have stated, they run their business differently. It seems like they run on efficiency and quality. They want you to know what you want. It is what it is. Love the food!!
