Arepitas

First I really wanted to like this place, service and resto was nice as well as the food being nicely plated so what was the problem. I hardly ate my food since everything was soo bland I'm not sure if this is authentic Venezuelan food but this was one of the few times in my life remembering to add salt to my food since I try to watch my sodium intake I'm pretty sensitive to salt. So pretty food and service but bland.

Food was fresh and amazing quality in the flavor. Staff was helpful and very kind. We did use the barcode on the table to order our food. Barcode was easy to use, pictures of food with descriptions was super helpful. They only had 2 waitress today during lunch time but honestly couldn't tell with the flow of the restaurant and use of the bar code. We got our food and drinks quickly. Husband and I were super impressed and cant wait to bring the kids to try it out too.

We went for lunch on a Monday and the food took a long time to come out. I didn't mind because I'm on spring break but some other guests were annoyed. I just figured quality outweighs efficiency but the guys i was with did ask if it always takes this long. Once the food came there was no more talking. I was worried because the restraunt relocated during the pandemic, expanded their seating and menu that the quality might have dropped off but it is still incredible. They use cloth napkins and real silverware which is always a plus for me. If you order the arrepa you will need a good napkin because they are heaving. All the food has pictures on the menu which is helpful. The dining room was packed and was very diverse which you expect in Killeen. I enjoyed a passion fruit juice and we started with fried cheese. The batter was delicate and not oily at all and the texture of the cheese was smooth and not overly hot temperature wise. It came with a delicious orange hot sauce that paired perfectly. Our server took the hot sauce when he cleared the plate so I asked for some more and got charged for it lol. The only thing I didn't like was getting charged 1.75 for a few slivers of jalapenos and a bit of hot sauce for my arrepa. The server was corny but friendly and the food was enjoyed by all. Both my friends said they would go back.
