The Blue Bell

Only stayed for a couple of drinks but they were very reasonably priced. There was a fairly good selection however i would of liked to have seen a more premium lager on tap. The juke box was free and was basically just like using spotify, the pool table was £1 per game, theres outdoor seating and a smoking area. I believe iy also accommodates overnight stays and has a food menu. Also large screen tvs available for sports viewing!!!

Stayed here for one night on the 28th December. The twin-bedded room, and ensuite shower were spotlessly clean, as were the towels and bedding. The Managers were very pleasant, friendly, polite and helpful, dealing with the fact that our booking was a complete surprise, as it hadn't shown up on their system, very quickly and calmly. In fact, the gentleman who organised the room, came to check on us later to make sure we were okay, ask if we needed anything, and brought us some bottled water. The only reason I have dropped one star, is because the breakfast was not up to standard....just tiny boxes of cereal, some 'plastic' bread to toast, and spreads. This doesn't even equate to a 'Continental Breakfast' as described. We had to go for breakfast at another pub in town. Just to add that on booking in, despite going out through the back and in another entrance, plus along winding corridors and thinking we were seperate from the main pub, it turned out we were right at the front of the building. Lol. Unfortunately, a flashing Christmas sign kept us awake. There were also rowdy groups of young people hanging around below in the street, then there was a very loud disturbance, followed by a fight at 1.30am. Just mentioned this because it may not be the best place to stay if you are looking for peace and quiet and hope for a good night's sleep. However, as aforementioned, very clean, and very nice hosts.
