Had a lovely coffee and cake in the cafe and bought a jar of sour cherry curd , it's delicious,
A little disappointed the castle had closed just after half past three , the website had said open till 5 pm , we still got to wander the grounds , being members meant no monetary outlay and we can revisit another day.

Good food and lovely cafe/veranda ruined by such slow service. Cashier kept leaving the till to ask the kitchen staff questions. So many staff rushing around, but shocking organisation. There must be a better way to organise and manage this cafe....such a shame a wonderful visit was ruined yet again by poor planning. Maybe reduce the menu to make it easier for staff?

The cafe for Sizergh Castle and Gardens. A good National Trust cafe that serves a good basic menu. You have to pay for the car park unless you are a N.T. member. There are some inspiring walks around the estate that you can take from the cafe.

I had a gorgeous pea & mint soup and my wife had a rhubarb & rosemary scone they were delicious.

The castle is excellent and very interesting, the café less so with usual NT mediocre snacks at reasonably expensive.

A very interesting, although quite small, castle
The grounds and countryside will be spectacular in the summer months. If you are going to use the cafe, do before or after midday; it gets rammed at lunchtime. Well worth a visit and, of course, the lakes are on the doorstep.

The potato and leek soup was like a warm hug on a cold day - seriously delicious. And don't get me started on the crusty bread, it was so good I almost wanted to take some home in my bag. And that sausage roll? Flaky perfection with a solid sausage-to-pastry ratio. Plus, we got free coffee just for taking the bus there – talk about perks! Can't wait to go back and try more tasty treats from this place.

A great place to visit- perfect for a winter walk. Good food and beautiful walks.

Decent cafe. Enjoyed a light lunch. Nice to have all the dishes using produce grown on site. Good vegan options and particularly appreciated a really filling bean soup that was enough sustenance for a long road trip.
