Denny's

Out of the two Denny's in the York / Hanover area this one is by far the best and is the newest. Server was really friendly and pleasant (intrigued by my Scottish accent...which I dare say they don't hear much around these parts) and the food was excellent. Not very busy when I was there and the food may have been a little slow in turning up ..like so many places there was a "now hiring" sign on the door.

I honestly love the servers here they are kind, polite, and nice! But!!! The cooks not knowing how to cook just ruined our dinner! I really think you guys should train the cooks a little bit better! I do wish you guys would focus more on us people in the dining area than to go orders! But great job servers! The servers is getting you the 3 stars if it was just the cooks it would be 0!

My experience a year ago was fantastic! My experience the other day was a tough one. My boyfriend and I dined in at Dennys for Father's Day (his chioce). I ordered a Buffalo sandwich with fries and he ordered medium well steak dinner. He said the meat was undercooked and the fries were cold. My meal on the other hand was tasty but the fries were burnt and cold. The only reason I am rating a five stars is because some days are worst than others and I get it. On the light side, our server was down to earth and a true sweetheart. Lastly , the cashless payment option Google Pay was totally down. I must have tapped my phone 100 times. The person behind me had to pay for my order and I had to cash app them my meal money. Just take heed. And be aware.

Was greeted with our waitress Faith. Was the best service I've had in a long time. Food preparation could use some help. Cook came out to let me know the steak I ordered was medium rare by company standards. Messed up the second one as well. I've cooked in a restaurant before and as you can see from my picture it's not even close to medium. I was tempted to go back and cook it myself. Home fries/hash browns were very under cooked. 6 feet distancing wasn't used while we were there. A table was seated 3 feet out from us 10 minutes before we left. The waitress as I mentioned helped with everything to make things right for us. I would return just for her.

First, a disclaimer, we had to wait quite a while to get a seat. Like many places, Denny's is short-staffed (we visited Apr. 24, 2022). This was not a factor in my review. Our hostess was Lisa and our server was Faith T. They were both friendly and attentive; in a word, fantastic. The restaurant was clean and the food was cooked well. Our 4 year old is typically a picky eater but he ate most of his food (jr. chocolate chip pancakes with banana slices) and some of mine in the restaurant and finished his leftovers at home. It was a much needed break for all of us and I hope we can go back soon. (The reason they got 4 stars instead of 5 is because we sometimes order Denny's via DoorDash and sometimes the food is overcooked).
