Red Lunchbox

I was absolutely blown away by my first experience here. The service was extremely friendly and personable, and don't get me started on the food!! The explosion of different flavors was incredible - Definitely one of the best meals I've had in a very long time! They change their menu daily, so although I'm disappointed I won't be able to get the same thing next time, I'm really looking forward to see what else they have to offer. I will be recommending this place to all my friends, and hope to be back very soon!

Seriously, the best restaurant in Canada may be in Halifax. And it just happens to be vegan, well 'plant-based'. We had a tasting menu of five courses. The flavours of local farm produce blend into subtle magic. Cauliflower gazpacho and a beet-cucumber-mint cooler were among my personal favorites. A surprisingly refreshing dining experience on the East Coast!

Great vegan dining experience. I enjoyed eating at the newly opened Red Lunchbox. The menu experiments with dishes you don’t see often in vegan restaurants (I had yet to see a plantain dish in Halifax until now). The restaurant proves that vegan food can taste good as i accidentally ate a banana and liked it (when i always thought i hated them). The menu may vary depending on what’s available so inquire within. The restaurant is in a great location and there is plenty of parking in front of the place as around 5-10 (when they’re open) quinpool has street parking as most people aren’t at work. On my visit on feb 21 was enjoyable as i came in when they opened. The waitress was amazing as she was knowledgeable about the food. At times she sat next to us to understand the menu (i like waitresses who act casual and personable). The chef came out and talked about his interests and philosphies (again, i love personable staff). I loved that the chef remembered that i came last week and said he was pretty happy to see us back. If you like persoanble service i recommend you swing by the Red Lunchbox. The staff truly care about the business and it shows. Don’t be put off by the price, it will be the best vegan food you have eaten in Halifax and by far the best customer service.
