Pasta Moon

Food was delicious, portions were reasonable for the price. For what we ordered, the downers first, then all the good... Ordered 2 soups, the special soup of the day, corn soup with crab was probably the most disappointing given the $18 price tag, minimally justified with the small chunk of crab (the soup itself was good). The Ribollita was similar to a minestrone soup. The second downer was that the pork chop wasn't stuffed as our friend recommended from their prior visit (it may have changed but the receipt did list it as the stuffed pork chop). The good... the spicy rock shrimp pizza was fresh, the lamb special was a tbone lamb and lamb sausage, both cooked very well. The smoked linguine sea scallops were delicious, only 3 scallops though they were thick. For dessert we got the marscapone cheesecake, delicious might I add. The special was a strawberry rhubarb shortbread with vanilla gelato which was good. The shortbread by itself was a little dry but when mixed with everything else, perfect texture. Service was fantastic, we mentioned on OpenTable we were celebrating a birthday and they provided a card! Would go again for special occasions!

I was here at the old location 3 years ago and had 3 stars then too. So wasn't bad, let me get into details. First off, the new location is beautiful and we were greeted nicely and promptly seated. We ordered the sausage pizza, which was super delicious, but really oily, short ribs marrow, which was just ok, mussels which were fantastic and the homemade linguine with Alaskan Dungeness crab. I'm sorry, but the pasta was the most disgusting dish. It was terrible. It was supposed to be my dish but we only finished half of it between my wife and I mostly just picking up the crab pieces which wasn't much. It was also $42. The most expensive dish was the nastiest. It was gross. Our service upon entering was fantastic, but about halfway through we were basically ignored having to wait over 20 minutes for a refill of water. Almost another 20 minutes after that just to get the check.

Went with my girlfriend and spent our 7 months together here. I had one of the linguine dishes. If you look at my photo, it kinda looks like ramen noodles (and kinda even taste like ramen noodles?) Overall, it was good lol. Girlfriend had the ravioli. It was an entree however it was a bit sweet. Had an appetizer but I forgot the name.

Wonderful experience... Excellent food! Do not miss the ambience of this delicious Italian Restaurant! EVERYTHING WAS GOOD! From the specialty drinks, to the fresh produce of the appetizers, and salads. The lasagna is to die for and the thin crusted Pizza... delicioso! Don't miss this dining experience! The owners are humble and lovely people.... Next time we're in California... We will return! Thank you for your hospitality! Your foodie friends from Iowa!

Superb! It's been a loooong time since I've visited Pasta Moon of Half Moon Bay, California. I don't want to tell you how long because I'd be showing my age! In my opinion, the food has gotten better. Service was prompt and professional. The waiter was very attentive, always topping off the water glass and refilling the bread and olive oil / vinegar. We started with the STEAMED MUSSELS. topped with crispy shoestring fries drizzled with a zesty lemon aioli. The BUTTERNUT SQUASH RAVIOLI'S were tossed in a Mascarpone and brown sugar glaze that was out of this world! We also ordered the PAPPARDELLE PANCETTA.The pasta was perfectly cooked and drowning in a creamy tomato sauce with wild mushrooms, basil, pine nuts and Mascarpone cheese. No dessert this time. But we'll be back!
