Orange Spot Bakery

Read about the award winning pasties made here and just had to give them a try. Absolutely delicious!!!! Hands down best pastie I have ever eaten and I’ve had a fair few. Very reasonably priced and great service topped off the experience. I’m only in Adelaide for a few days but I will be back for one more pastie before I go.

Having been to Orange Spot a few times, we keep coming back. Their vanilla slice is firm, tasty, and big enough for two to enjoy a nice peace each! The pies are genuine pies, amd pastys are great, good size and mix of vegetables. Reasonable on street parking, friendly staff, steady service speed, good coffee - I'll need to ponder that more - and good value. Definitely become a regular

Ok, so I am currently in Adelaide/Glenelg from Melbourne. Yesterday I felt like something sweet & ventured out for a walk but wanted something away from Jetty Rd. So I arrived at this big orange shop & went in. I wanted to buy one of everything but chose a canolli & vanilla slice. As I was going back to my hotel room, I ended up in the lift with another guest. Asked if I got a pasty from orange's I said no just sweets. He told me to get a pasty, so here I am back in my room with a pasty & sausage roll. Yuuuuuuuuuum!!! I could eat this every day. Sadly leaving tomorrow but definitely coming back to this wonderful bakery. Past flakey pastry & amazing taste. Hands down best I've had of both.

Food was really good here, I had a chunky steak pie and it was wicked, flavour was awesome and the pastry was soft. My girlfriend had the Chunky Steak and Onion and loved it as well. My sister had a chunky steak and mushroom and thoroughly enjoyed it too. Only negative is the pasty, got so hyped seeing it was the #1 but I really don't think it was anything special.

LOVED the food! 
MOST of the staff were super lovely, except one (and its this one staff member that motivates this feedback). This staff member (slightly older lady) was just plain mean to other staff members. She slammed cupboards in anger, reprimanded staff loud enough for everyone in the room to hear, It never ended and it was super uncomfortable to witness. All other staff members were professional and a delight to deal with by comparison. I hope the owner reads this if only to highlight the need to protect staff from this overt workplace bullying. A kind, safe and respectful work culture goes a long way if you want loyal, happy staff. PS the yellow post-it note system for taking orders seemed to slow things down and aggravate the above staff member (who constantly had issues reading them). You can order proper Order Form pads for cafes at a small cost (win win). I’ll be back for the pies, but I just hope your poor staff are better treated on our next visit!
