Shoney's

Travellers, this is a solid Shoney's experience. We had the buffet which was well appointed. There was something for everyone. The salad bar was great, the mac and cheese was delicious and so was the baked chicken and fried chicken. The vegetables were good but the collards were overcooked and soggy and that was disappointing. Service was with a smile. Check it out. We recommend. TLDR solid Shoney's buffet👍

It's a little hard to see from the road, but it is worth the effort. Mike, the owner is a really nice guy with a great staff. We arrived early afternoon as we were driving through the area. My husband had the breakfast buffet and I had an omelet. He was very satisfied as was I. The next time we are in the Richmond area, we will return. Maybe we can get there when they have their seafood buffet up!

I dunno what they was doing today but the chicken was not fresh at all even when they brought out a new pan. Asked for lemon in my tea and the waitress never brung it and even forgot to give us refills until we reminded her of course . They had her doing a lot so I still tipped her. None of the food was tasteful this time around. Shoney’s has to do better. Some of the plates was dirty too which is a big no no. And last they tried to rush us to eat so we wouldn’t get charged the seafood buffet increase assuming we was not trying to pay it or something. The best thing we had today was the salad. We was excited to go to Shoney’s the night before just to get let down. They will miss out on business if they continue to do business like this. This is coming from a routine customer. One word to describe today’s visit is…unsatisfied!!!

When there because was easy. Good Friday and they have their seafood bar. We got the buffet, fish wasn't too bad, but wasn't very hot either. Breaded shrimp, was doughy. Some pieces were more brown, so cooked a little longer. I had fish and chips on my mind so perfected ordered a side of fries. When they were place in front of me, was surprised at how little I was given for $3.50. One waitress said that's right it's 4 ounces, but we get that all the time. Our server said yes it's only 5 oz. When we paid the manager said they are 6 oz. SMH then he said yes I corrected her. I know they are 6 ounces because I portioned all of them. Think the server that said 4 was closest. But the manager should have handledit a little better. His first wishes should have been I'm sorry you weren't happy.

First time in a long time eating here and it was very disappointing. Food on bar was either dry , had been too long on the bar or cold , some food had a funny taste to it. Table was sticky and we were told it was the disinfect they used. it smelled terrible and even the napkins in the dispenser smelled like it. Truly disappointing. I will stick to the shoneys on Broad street. Way , way better.
