Waldo’s Bbq

So here's the thing about Waldo's BBQ, the price of their food is fantastic especially considering how flavorful and delicious their brisket was that I ordered. It was so good that I've gone back twice since. The staff there is absolutely fantastic, the servers that I had were outstanding. Now here's why I didn't give them a 5-star review, the first time I was there and ordered the 'mac and cheese', it was very soupy and not very flavorful. The third time I went there I got the 'brisket mac and cheese' , it was very soupy, not very flavorful, and it came out cold. If they can kick up the quality and tastefullness of the sides, this place would be on par with some of the best barbecue places I've ever been to.

Tried to go to Blue 32 recently during a Suns game, and when they wouldn’t accept the reservation we made, walked next door to Waldo’s. We lucked out! The place was practically empty, so we were immediately seated. The food was overall pretty tasty! My pulled pork and mac n cheese were good, and I liked their BBQ sauce a lot. The cornbread was dry and definitely below average, in my opinion. But the star of the meal for us was the peach cobbler a la mode. So delicious! Our server was very friendly and quick. Overall, a pretty nice experience, and we’d definitely return again.

Bartender here was 100% awesome! I didn't get her name but we stopped in for a quick bite on a very tight time schedule. We were in and out in maybe 20 minutes and she knocked it out of the park. Had a quick beer, got our food (which was great by the way) and we were out the door in time to see our next home. Highly recommend this place and the awesome staff that helped us keep to our time table! Left a well deserved big tip too!

Took the grandkids while we were in town visiting. Best BBQ we have had in awhile. I had the brisket sandwich half fatty half lean. It was juicy and filling. The wife had the ham sandwich and enjoyed it. The kids both had ribs and they were falling off the bone and juicy. Sides were good service was fast and friendly. We would definitely recommend and will visit again.

We've been eating takeout here for a few months due to COVID preventing seating inside, but last night was the first time we dined in. We already knew we loved the food, but were even more impressed dining in. Of course having food fresh out of the kitchen is always better, but we were also very happy with the service. Service was definitely above and beyond. Also gave us a chance to try the peach cobbler ala mode - and we were very glad we did.

We were welcomed and seated immediately and some corn bread with jalapenos was delivered to our table. Our waiter, Gabe, was fantastic. He went over the menu, explained the happy hour specials, nightly specials and made a few recommendations. Our drinks were delivered promptly and our food order was taken. We both decided on the Baby Back Ribs with a baked sweet potato and coleslaw for sides. The ribs were as advertised, "fall off the bone" tender with a great tasting rub used on them. The cole slaw was very, very good and words can't describe how perfectly the sweet potato was with butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.

It was very good, not holy grail status of BBQ but still very good. Nice atmosphere, we went to see a friends band play, and the food was good. I ordered the brisket sandwich and their Mac n cheese. Brisket was good but the sauce was better. Cornbread was great with bits of green chili, loved the texture of the cornbread.

I went last night (Friday night) with the family to the Gilbert location and we did not have to wait to be seated. The waitress was quick with service and very friendly. The ambiance was nice and they had live music. The 3 kids played Connect 4 while we waited for food which made the wait a lot easier. Before our food came out they served us some jalapeño corn bread which my wife and I loved. The kids said it was too spicy so it left extra for me and the misses. The food prices were actually quite reasonable. I got the 1/3 pound beef special with 2 sides (sweet potato fries and beans) for $9.99. My Wife's BBQ chicken sandwich was $9.99 also with sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were perfect (not overdone). For a Friday night dinner to be under $55 after tip for sit down service is pretty good. And to restate the service was really good. Our waitress was checking on us frequently and Waldo's kitchen was able to get the food out to us within a decent amount of time. I had never had Waldo's before and after trying them I will be going back. If it had been a little warmer we would have sat out on their patio which was nice with a cool fireplace. The only complaint I have is that the menu on-line showed kids meals were $4.99 but in the restaurant the menu said $6.99. They need to update the website. I didn't make a stink about it because the portions and service were really good. In all I'd give them 4.5 if Google's rating system let me.

My wife and I went here for the first time last night. They had live band playing - who was REALLY good. Added an awesome touch to the experience. The food was delicious. The staff friendly. We got seated right away on a Saturday evening. Indoor and outdoor seating available. The food was delivered quickly and exactly as we ordered it. We will be back!
