🇯🇵 JAPAN Excerpt from Eat the World Los Angeles: One ramen spot just north of the 405 on Western that serves sublime bowls is Asa Ramen, a place that intricately makes you feel like you have stepped back in time at least a couple decades. Even the cigarette smells wafting in from the connected karaoke/hostess cafe next door make it seem a long time ago. But what is better than five or ten years ago, at least from the customer's point of view, is that the weekend waiting lists are hardly a thing and the influencers (the new hipsters) have moved on.

Got off the plane late at LAX in the rain and this was the perfect bowl of ramen still open. I had the spicy special and my girlfriend had the curry. Both were very good and much better than most ramen we can get in Colorado. Prices were outstanding and I would definitely go back again. Staff was very quick but they had stopped cooking the octopus for the night. Thanks for a great meal.

I had the soy sauce based ramen over here was very good, very simple and light. It actually has the feel of how ramen restaurants in Japan are, you order, they bring the food and they leave you alone until you want the bill. The hours posted everywhere online are wrong. They are open 5pm-1am everyday per their sign at the front door.
