The best thing about this ramen is the broth, extremely flavorful and mellow. The chashu wasn't quite as authentic as I would have wanted. The pieces are sliced pretty thick and there was no smoky flavor. The fully hard-boiled egg was also a bit of a disappointment. Furthermore, while the noodles weren't quite as firm and chewy as you would expect from some of the best ramen restaurants, they at least weren't overcooked to the point of being mush. However, the prices were great and service was friendly. Parking available in front. Overall, an ok ramen restaurant in Gainesville.

Glad we decided to try it out. I got the spicy ramen with beef flavored dashi and tofu. The food was great. Honestly, this is the best tofu I have ever eaten. I don't know what they do differently, but whatever it is, I am impressed. For dessert, I had the creamsicle flavored mochi, which was delicious. If you're looking for something to eat, certainly consider this restaurant. I know I will if I'm in the area again. The store is small, along with the parking lot, but it was very clean inside, as well as the bathroom. The service was quick and responsive. The wall paintings are large, a bit "out there" but in no way offensive. There is a projector and large screen, so perhaps they hold movie nights or something. I went there at a convenient time, as I got a special deal on the ramen bowl prices. I got half price which was amazing. I went on a Friday and dined-in, between 3pm-5pm. I'm not sure if that's always the special, but it was a welcomed surprise. One of the things I would enjoy for them to upgrade to is a fountain drink system. But although they don't have that, they do have a assortment of tea to choose from, and water cups.

Something was missing for me when it came to flavors of the vegetarian ramen. I really wanted to love it, and the tofu was very good and very flavorful. Noodles were good, nicely cooked. The broth lacked a depth and complexity for me though. I felt it was very one note. I also would have like corn and butter as topping options, these are personal favorites for me and I think would add a fattiness and sweetness that the broth didn't have. Also the egg was not warm. My partner had the traditional ramen with pork and our conclusion was that the traditional meat based broth with the tofu would probably be the best best for flavor. Would try again if they added more topping options or improved broth, as service was very good and friendly and prices reasonable.

The ramen is great. I also got the steamed buns Which were also good. The price is also very reasonable. I'd definitely check this place out. I'm giving 4 stars ONLY because it was really hot in the establishment. Should probably turn the air down a few more degrees.

This place is awesome. A practical departure from the fancier, and more expensive place downtown. The menu here is very simple, because the focus is on the ingredients. Shoyu is the staple with a miso-based broth as an alternative choice. The food here is just plain hearty, and you can add extra noodles and pork to your bowl and still spend less than competitors!

Great hidden spot for ramen. Totally worth the HUGE commute of 3 minutes away from downtown. I'll take a place who makes a handful of great dishes over a place offering a 5 page menu of mediocre food any day!

This place is great! I had the ramen with vegetarian broth. Normally with tofu I can take it or leave it, this tofu was amazing and also the first thing I ate. Comfortable atmosphere with counter service. I will be back to try more of the other options.
