The bread was easily the best part as it was so good. But the lamb was stinky for me so if you have trouble with lambs normally then best skip it. The pork was nice but it was sweet. Nice atmosphere for evening drinks though I think.

It was my first time dining at Bread In Common with 4 other people. I really enjoyed the food from entrees to main courses. The bread and the spread was amazingly nice. The main courses we ordered were very tasty and pretty close to fine dining quality. We all had shared plates.
The interior setting of the restaurant was pretty welcoming. The settings in the upper floor was cosy. The staff were friendly and the food service were not slow at all being a packed house.
Although parking on the streets are limited, it is recommended to park at the multi-storey car park which is a short walking distance to the restaurant.

We were a little disappointed about our breakfast here. Bread in Common was always on my list as a funky and innovative space for interesting food and cool atmosphere.
The atmosphere was great. Service was a little clunky. The space is so so so cool. Maybe the breakfast doesn't match the lunch/evening service but our experience... it just didn't quite match the hype.
The coffees we ordered were served in takeaway cups with the apology that they ran out of mugs. They then proceeded to serve others with mugs. It also wasn't a full house so whilst I would have understood if they were run off their feet, the excuse seemed a little weak.
The menu read really well, with interesting combinations - I was tossing up what to get and asked the server who responded with a disinterested "it's up to you." 😒
When the food came out we were greeting with what was, very simply, a pretty expensive big breakfast and mushrooms on toast with hummus. It was all very blah. Well cooked and by no means low in quality, but it just wasnt interesting? Or creative? In a different small less hyped cafe maybe we would have been okay with the food but we were just expecting so much more, especially for the price (and one piece of toast).
Would be keen to go for dinner and see the difference and hype that everyone raves about. Maybe we were just unlucky.

Great ambiance for a slow Sunday start. The home made butter is soft, creamy and light, goes so so well with their fresh bread
I also love the fruit bread with butter. Well balance of sweetness and slight saltiness from the butter; toasted just right with the right thickness in the slices

A beautiful venue for a casual Saturday or for an occasion to celebrate. This place is a treasure of Fremantle hidden in a one way side street. Note: please be prepared to spend a little longer finding parking if driving!
We started with some beautiful fresh bread with olives and salted butter. Our entire group had the main prawn dish which was to die for. There was just the right amount of prawns for a fulfilling main dish, however, was light and enjoyable for a summer evening. We each had a different dessert. Each was as enjoyable as our main.
Will absolutely be returning. Staff were incredibly busy, as expected for a Saturday night in Fremantle, but each staff member was attentive so overall we had excellent service.

We haven't visited this place in a long while so after 3 odd years we decided to give it a go. We drove all the way from Mandurah and it was generally worth it. We were welcomed by a friendly waitress and the setting was great. Looking down the menu, the options were good however pricey. The combination We tried was quite yummy and the chef's attention to detail and product quality on plate was fantastic. You have to try their bread for obvious reasons, coupled with the lamb gravy....Yummo!!! 😀😀😀. We ordered the lamb ribs and let me tell you the sauce that was in the plate, I could drink a couple of glasses of that...nice lemony 🍋. With this We had the roasted cauliflower dish...OMG...beautiful combination with the lamb ribs...I couldn't ask for a better meal. One criticism though was that they gave me literally a drop of bubbles for 13 bloody dollars!!! See pic. At least fill the glass up you know? Other than that it was a nice spoil to visit this place and if you want to impress your date? Take him/her here...you will NOT regret it. Our average spent was $40...Not bad at all. Thanks Bread in common 👍👊🤟🙏😀😀❤

Great spot for brunch. We were able to get a dog friendly table outside. Delicious bread and dukkah, heirloom tomatoes and cauliflower. Great building in the heart of Freo.

Delightful!!!!
Coming from Melbourne, the food here just blows out of the water!
My husband and I waited to come in at opening 11.30am as the venue and bread looked amazing, intentionally expecting more of a brunch -Breakfast food, but we were pleasantly surprised with the experience. We ordered the bread selection with house made butter and olives -sensational. The crowing glory : Lamb Ribs, beautifully crisp on top with tenderness throughout and a delicate, sage, honey lime dew. I am writing this review as we are licking our lips. Seriously guys we are impressed!!! For the price point too this place offers higher quality on all fronts compared to the same end dishes in Melbourne.
Incredible. 5 stars with two hands up .
