We ordered a hibiscus margarita, chips and guacamole, a chicken quesadilla, and the 3-taco platter with the birria taco, firecracker shrimp taco, and the surf and turf taco (carne asada and shrimp). I cannot say enough how delicious the food was. It was fresh, hot, flavorful, and plentiful. The service was great. The atmosphere was fun - outdoor seating was great - plenty of shade and fans but still sun.

Really great food - I’d recommend some Shrimp tacos! Great servers- they made a small mistake but were so quick to make things right. Great atmosphere & will be coming back! A staple of Folly beach. 10/10

Okay, so the buttermilk fried chicken tacos were some of the best upscale tacos I have ever had! And the queso dip-yum! And one of the persons in our party let me taste her street corn (served on the cob) and I was surprisly impressed how good it was. And another one of our party had a shrimp Taco and fish taco and said they were both fantastic. Skip the Americana taco and live a little on the edge. You won’t be disappointed for stretching your boundaries. I would pass on the guacamole— kinda bland and seemed not homemade. But the rest of the food was outstanding. We left so full and completely satisfied after each of us had only ordered the two taco meal. We will definitely be back!

Taco Boy is one of our favorites whenever we visit folly Beach. We particularly love the bar area. The service and atmosphere are good and the tacos are great!

I let the lady up front know about my celiac disease, and the waitresses we got were already aware and offered me pointers on what/how to order. No adverse reaction at all to my food, not even cross contamination, so already it's 5 stars for me.
Drinks and food are delicious on top of that. Tacos came with rice and mildly spicy beans. Their hot sauce, the "Danger Sauce", is also very tasty, but they're not playing with the name. Don't put too much on your food like I did, lol. Though even with the excessive hot sauce, it was still delicious. 👍
If you order alcohol, they do ID everyone, no exceptions. This is a good thing in my book, but it's something I should probably mention anyway.

Went early and good thing because the wait for food was a bit long but peak season was understandable. We loved the food and the atmosphere. Would recommend!

Great tacos, margs and atmosphere. Recommend skipping the wait and grabbing a spot at one of the bars. They are first come first serve and usually have better seats to check out the live music. Can't go wrong with any of the tacos.

UPDATE: I am changing this a bit because after some reflection, I think we experienced an "off" night. I would still say not to wait and hour+ for a table, but we did find that our table was ready earlier than the estimated wait time one night. The atmosphere and decor is nice and when the live music is playing, I'm sure it adds to the experience. So I do think it may be worth checking out Taco Boy Folly Beach and making your own assessment.
We kept trying to get a table here because it was always busy so we figured it must be really good. Plus on the weekend there was live music, it looked like a cool place to hang out, drink a margarita and eat a taco. While it was ok, I don’t think Taco Boy really lived up to the expectations we had set. The margaritas were ok and the food was decent. I don’t recommend waiting too long for a table as it’s not worth a long wait. It’s not awful, but just not anything particularly special either.

You feel like you're in a tropical location at the Folly Beach location of Taco Boy. It's a beautiful retreat from the average and the usual. Inside and outside dining options. Our service here was also excellent and very kind. We love that you can get two-taco platters with rice and beans for $14. I opted for Mexican street corn with my two tacos for an additional dollar. Lots of drink options. I'd suggest parking nearby at one of the digital-metered Park Folly locations through the Passport Parking app. This was a great experience we'd absolutely visit again. We hope to visit the west Asheville, NC location sometime.
