Lizard's Thicket

A good place for family to dine out... The food is so good with reasonable price and the service is absolutely great... If you are on diet or cant eat too much.they have small plate with a good price..you can choose one meat (smoked sausage,fried flounder,beef stew,fried chicken or baked ham) with two sides.. The cornbread is really good. Before noon or during Sunday,you can order their small platter menu for less than 5$.. Ive ordered fried flounder ..with toast..scramble egg and mash potatoes..that was really good. Last Sunday in March 2022 we found out that they have increased the price 1$ from the menu

Today, my daughter I came to this restaurant for the first time. Not sure why it took 7 years but the experience was well worth the wait. Cynthia was a 5-star server. Her skills and timing were impeccable. Cynthia was very charming as well. I look forward to my next visit. The food was very Southern and freshly prepared. The grilled pound cake is to die for. Don't forget a scoop of Vanilla ice cream. The sawmill gravy on the chicken fried steak was much better than that of Cracker Barrel. Portions were just right not scrimped but not too much. Also like the Alabama slaw. Great food.

We were driving through SC and looking for a place to eat and came across Lizard’s Thicket and thought it sounded like a good place to try. We are always looking for unique places to eat while on vacation. This place has good country cooking. I would definitely eat here again if we were ever passing through. I will tell ya that if you are looking at the dressing, that it’s more like stuffing, not like mamas dressing in Alabama 🙂. Other than that everything was yummy. Lima beans were the best I’ve ever had.

We had the liver with gravy and onions, mashed potatoes and pole beans. My liver was burnt but they gave me another piece of liver. My food was delicious. The manager was very friendly. He frequently comes around to check on the customers. I have also had their fried flounder before and it is always very good. It does not have all that extra batter on it. Everything is very tasty.

This was my 1st time ever going to this restaurant. It was so good, I thoroughly and totally enjoyed eating at this restaurant. Our server Susan was so patient and friendly. She gave us such good recommendations and she was continually checking on us. I truly appreciated it. Will definitely go back again next time I am in Florence .
