Ihop

I finally had an opportunity to go to IHOP and I had a mixed experience. The restaurant was clean and the interior was updated and contemporary. We had to wait probably 10 minutes to get seated. The host made sure our table was clean. We were seated next to a large group of teens that were somewhat noisy. The server was kind and extremely friendly. However, the food came out cold. We got rye toast and it was the best toast I’ve had in a long time. I gave a generous tip to the server as she was extremely personable and kind. I would have liked to get a refill on my ☕️ coffee, but the atmosphere was not conducive to sit and enjoy the morning due to the large party of teens. As much as I would like to return to give them a second chance, I don’t think I will be return.

I love IHOP's menu so I was so excited when one opened in Flint a few years ago. But I have to say we have yet to have a good experience here..usually we dine in and service ia incredibly slow (even pre-covid). Today we tried to order out to try to skip the headache. We were given a pickup time of 8:30. On the app we hit "On the Way" when we left our home and "I'm Here" once we arrived at the store. After 15 minutes no one had come out so we had to call in to let them know we were here. Fine.. annoying but not the end of the world. Got our food, get home and our daughters food was almost inedible. We ordered a sprinkle pancake with sprinkles IN the batter and it comes with frosting instead of syrup. It also came with a scrambles egg and a side of turkey bacon. When we opened the box at home the frosting had completely coated the eggs and sausage (oh yea..they were out of turkey bacon and instead of telling us and giving us the option of another protein, they decided for themselves what we would have). There were no sprinkles in the batter as advertised, just on top (see photo). But the frosting mess was inexcusable. The eggs couldn't be saved they were coated in so much frosting. The sausage had to be rinsed off in the sink to get all the frosting off of it so she would eat it. My husband and I both got pancake and egg combos and our boxes came separated so why they wouldn't do that for this box as well is beyond me. I love their food but after this last mess we won't be back.

Sat 4-9-22 late morning visit was not off to a good start when upon entering, we were told there would be a 20 minute wait & there was just 2 of us. I looked around & it was not even half filled to capacity. There were numerous empty booths & tables. We sat down to wait as there were 2 people waiting for table ahead of us still. After 10 min. those people walked out & few min. later we were called to be seated. We were seated twd back of place by Emergency Exit door passing alot of empty seatings along the way along with walking over & around a massive amount of food scraps and/or spills on the floor. There was literally food all over the floor where people were walking. I observed this over the entire place. It wasnt anything random. It was evenly spread throughout!! My son found a Q-tip wedged btwn his seat & the wall. Our table was not in the best clean condition either. Other than those somewhat major issues, our waitress was friendly & had good pleasant attitude & food was served out to us very quick. The food was also great. But I wouldnt want to go back & experience all the pre-eating our meal un-festivities. If you know what I mean. I hope those issues are addressed & taken care of for everyones sake & for health related issues that will no doubt arise.

Location was clean clean restrooms, manger attempt to keep everything in order but takes a bit of time to get everything going and a while to get your breakfast food. I personally would not go back but limited menu over priced to portion and staff personality caused this decision, but would give it at least a try it’s worth that. Other local family owned places better for breakfast and better priced vs to high price chained with average food and small portions.

The eggs we ordered were not cooked correctly. After the waiter took our order we waited for almost an hour for food. The strawberries on my crepes were frozen not fresh, so they were soggy. There wasn't enough cream on my crepes either. There were only 3 of us so it shouldn't have taken that long to get our food. This was definitely not what I expected from an IHOP.

Wow - lots of Karens in these reviews. This place is awesome. Hardly anyone was in the restaurant when we went. We were seated right away by the host, who checked on us multiple times throughout our time there. Both him and our waitress were very kind and attentive. Our drinks were brought right away, and we needed a bit more time to look at the menu, but they came back again as soon as we were ready to order. Our meal was brought out to us (hot and exactly to order) within 10 minutes of ordering. I had gotten the breakfast sampler, and they let me substitute the cheesecake pancakes for the regular pancakes. I asked for the strawberries on the side, and the waitress brought me separate cups of strawberries and whipped cream on the side shortly before the food came out. I ate them both and she asked if I wanted more strawberries and whipped cream (ummm - yes, please!!!). My significant other got a breakfast burrito and hash browns and he was also really happy with his meal. We’ll definitely be back!!
