Denny's

My husband and I came here for lunch time, after a long hike, so we were very hungry. I ordered a “Supreme Sizzling skillet” without the sausage and cheese. Husband got a Eggs Benedict with ham & without hollandaise. I loved my order because potatoes weren’t greasy as in other locations. Husband’s hash browns were well cooked and crispy.

I ordered for curbside pickup and was there early. I called to let them know I was there like the email said to do. 20 mins after my order was supposed to be ready I call again to make sure they knew I was there. The person answering the phone was not the friendliest but did bring out my order 10 mins later. When I got home, the sandwich bag with the jelly and syrup had an empty container of syrup. It was not spilled everywhere, it was a used opened container. I called to let them know and the manager said I would receive an email with a coupon. I told him I was not trying to get a full refund but wanted them to be aware of what was put in the bags so that wouldn't happen again. I never received the email. I would have been happy if they at least gave me back the tip I gave them.

Older building. From the outside it doesn't look to appealing. Had the French Toast Slam for brunch. Drink was delivered. Then about 5 minutes received the food. Very hot and appetizing... But wait still hadn't received any utensils. Waitress was friendly and a little humorous. That was nice. Very good attentive follow-up service too.

I could not believe this was still standing. My grandmother took us here after church almost 40 years ago. As young adults, we would hang out there after the bars closed, smoke cigarettes, drink coffee and share fries. That was 30 years ago. Now I am visiting my old home town again and I took my best friend and her mom for lunch. I was mind blown to see this old building was intact and looked the same! Im 51 years old now and THEY STIIL have excellent service and a clean, inviting atmosphere. It's kind of darker inside then I remembered. It isn't packed like it used to be. I think there was a glass patio at one point. Anyway, it is chock full of happy memories for me.It looks a bit run down, but it is still a Dennys.The food was excellent and our waitress was very attentive and good at her job. I am impresesed and thankful that it is still here, after so many years. Dennys has been doing it right in Escondido for a looooong time. Stop in, you will want to order 1 of everything because they are consistently good across the board.
