M Cafe

I took my mother out to M Cafe. This restaurant looks newly renovated, though I was not impressed by what was in front of me, besides a fabulous floral arrangement near the front door. Our service was excellent, and the server had a good understanding of the food, and never hesitated to bring us refills. There was no crowd as we attended about 5 pm on a Wednesday. I do not mind paying for a good quality meal. Our meals were of good proportion to the cost, and aesthetically pleasing. Unfortunately, I had to take both of our meals back home and recook them to add some flavor! I added fresh garlic, salt, cream, red pepper flakes, and a touch of wine to save my mom's dish. The server read our body language that we were not happy, and was eager to fix it, but at this point we had already waited long enough so we got our check, boxes, and left shortly after that. Will not return to M Cafe, but I hope they add some flavor to their dishes.

Wonderful dining experience! This nice little restaurant is a great place to find casual dining, mixed with exceptionally well prepared food, at a very reasonable price. Simple in its decor, but delightfully rich in meal selections, this place hosts family, the casual diners as well as people looking for a place to relax after work. The breads and flat breads are made on site, and there is a wonderful mixture tastes and of topping to go with them. There is pride in not only the servers, but in the meals and the way they are presented...they smell great, taste fantastic, but look wonderful when they are served to you! As for service, the staff is well trained and very professional, if you have a problem with your diet, they will discuss with the chef options to meet your needs. A small but, very nicely stocked selections of wine are on hand, and some nice choices in beers as well. It may appear that parking is an issue, but do not let that stop you from going, M's has a parking lot just across the street from the entrance, and there is a working crossing light to assist you in getting across the road. This is a great addition to the dining establishments in our Erie area and one that you should check out. Their menu is on line, and the specials change daily and are always tempting. Try M Cafe, you'll be glad you did.

The service and atmosphere are great. I had the duck which I did not care for, but my wife had chicken marsala and she thoroughly enjoyed. The appetizers are not your typical. We tried the brie with pots bread. It was good. The menu has some interesting items, it is definitely not boring. We'll go back.

Great drinks....Terrible food! Our appetizers and main entrees were overcooked and cold! The server was under experienced. We waited forever to get our entrees. We had ordered a bottle of wine for two and requested another glass but she never brought the glass. We then requested a glass of wine from another server because our server never checked back with us. We enjoyed the atmosphere but not the food or the service!

The place is nice my server was absolute delight. For the wine I had asked for the red Bordeaux and they had discontinued it. Okay so I ordered something else their wine list was pretty good. I was checking the menu they had Boeuf Bourguignon which was served with mash sweet potatoes I'm French Canadian no way we ever made it with mashed anything. So I asked for the lamb and that too was discontinued, I chose the chicken and the house salad everything was delicious

Our dining experience there was amazing! The peppercorn sirloin was excellent and my hubby's salmon and wil rice made him remark several times about the flavor. At our waiter's tempting description we ended the meal with the chef's special chocolate hazelnut flan. Highly recommend this wonderful place!

Really good food, the wine list is not huge but all of the selections are good, and the cocktails are very diverse and not mixed to be as cheap as possible like some restaurants. I would recommend getting there earlier if you want something specific though, we came at 6:30 and they were out of the appetizer we wanted and by the time we got to dessert they were out of everything but the cheesecake. We ended up going for the margherita flatbread instead and it was excellent.

The food was ok. This is the second time we have tried this place. We wanted to give it a second chance. They booked two big parties at the same time as our reservation and it took over an hour to get our dinner. We actually picked up our own drinks at the bar after watching them sit there for 15 minutes. When our dinner came an hour later it was burned (which we didn’t even mention to the them) and the manager said that our waiter had 57 people to take care of, making us feel that our reservation wasn’t as important. I don’t think this lady realizes that people our age reserved babysitters so we can have a few quiet moments out. I’ve never felt compelled to write a bad review but even though the waiter was nice the kitchen shouldn’t take reservations if they can’t handle the amount of customers. We definitely won’t give it a third chance.
