Home cooked food made with love, hot and fresh and ready to devour. At nearly every soul food restaurant I’ve been to, it’s been tasteless. Not sure why. This place though has TONS of flavor. Those desserts are wonderful. This is a place you may not notice passing by but if you get a chance to stop, this is a must have.

In my search for black owned businesses, Eva Mae's was next up to try out. DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! Plenty of food and served piping hot. Spoke with Nathan about the story of Eva Mae's beginning and even more delighted about this place. Customer Service is bar none. Now I can see why they are given 5 stars. We will be back!

I brought my wife here for a late lunch/early dinner date. I had the liver & onions w/ the mac & cheese & red beans & rice. My wife had the fried ribs w/ the mac & cheese, cabbage. It was really good (stick to your ribs type of food, make you wanna take a nap after you eat) We will definitely be going back!!!

Pic taken at 7pm on a Friday night. Very slow service. Friendly staff, just slow. Menu is soul food. One entree with two sides and a small cornbread muffin is $14. That's a little on the spendy side, IMHO. I had fried ribs, cabbage, and yams. Food is ok. Not bad. Not good. A few gripes... We had to ask for drinks twice. No one ever asked if we wanted a refill. Waited for-ev-er to get the check. Come on folks. Y'all need to pay more attention to the patrons.

First time here. Greeted nicely at the door, drink order taken but the drinks never materialized. Had to ask another waiter to bring me water. I got the fried fish. It was limp. Needed about 5 more minutes in the deep fryer. The yams were so sweet, they were inedible. The cabbage was good. No one ever filled up our water glasses. We asked for a to-go container to take the mostly uneaten meal home for our chickens. You would think that would trigger bringing us the bill, but not so much. Someone finally cleared the dirty dishes away and FINALLY brought a check. $13.99 a plate is way over priced for such mediocre food. We'll cross this one off our list.

We had a very large group on a Saturday & we managed to order all but 2 items on the menu between us all! I've never wanted or liked ANYthing with bananas in it... Decided, why not, and tried the banana pudding dessert. If i hadn't been so full, i might have ordered one to go! EVERY single item/side on the menu was amazing. Nothing was 'lacking' in any way! Get some Mac n' cheese if/when you go!! It's sooo good! <3 We eventually saw our cooks come out & we applauded & shook their hand.. <^w^> When someone makes you food THAT good, it's almost mandatory! Lol
