The night that I visited I was craving a Chicago med filet... Which I did order but read told that the only chef who could prepare it was not working So sadly I ordered the burger with mushrooms and cheddar. It was very good, but it wasn't steak. The food was good, the service not very. On a night when it was fairly empty I should have been better.

Great location - minutes away from the arena. Excellent menu with lots of gluten free and vegetarian options. Decent cocktail list. Blackened chicken was great - crispy potato bacon salad is delightful. Crispy tofu bowl was perfect. Service on point. Prices reasonable. Will absolutely go again.

I have been here a thousand times and really enjoy it. It's great for lunches, meetings, pre or post game drinks, appies and dinner, to hosting events. The staff is usually pretty switched on and the food is always consistently good.

This is a beautiful restaurant in a very good location and my husband and I were quite excited to spend date here. My husband made reservations online for our date and an employee called the day before to confirm that we were still coming - nice touch. We were dressed in casual attire when we arrived to JOEY as we were attending a hockey game after our meal; when we arrived, the hostess asked if we had a reservation, which my husband told her we did and gave her the name for the reservation. The hostess didn't confirm our reservation on her tablet and we were told to wait to be seated over to the side of the lobby...which we found a bit strange. We waited and watched several people walk in and get seated; first a couple of people which the same hostess asked if they'd like to sit at the bar, which we weren't asked and they were taken straight over, and another small family that were taken to a table to be seated in the time we were waiting. We then went back up to the same hostess who we checked in with, who asked us how we were again, so I assume she forgot who we were or why we were there, and asked if we could just sit at the bar, and she decided to seat us. As we were being escorted to the bar, we walked past three empty tall table's and asked if we could sit there to which she replied; "no they're for a reservation"...which we were. She ended up taking two chairs from one of the tables and seating us at the bar. In the entire time we were at JOEY (which was well over an hour), no one sat at that table we asked to sit at. It took a significant amount of time to get our first drinks, and our food which our bartender apologized for due to how busy it was, which we totally understood. The food and drinks were wonderful, and we look forward to trying more items from the menu, we just hope that our host/hostess greeting at our next visit is more attentive and conscientious about their guests as we did not feel very valued during our last welcome into JOEY. If our next visit is better, I will update my review.

I ordered the hot wings & dumpling for appetizer and they were delicious. We followed with the poke bowl & blacked chicken. It was all wonderful but I give this location a 4/5 because our waitress was not the greatest. She seemed like she didn’t like her job. Overall great food but okay service !

Joey Bell tower was so awesome to us on our anniversary this week. They gave us a quiet table with a nice view and split our orders in the kitchen instead of making us do it at the table. The Server Lucas (Lukas?) was great also. They brought us free dessert on a fancy plate and the entire thing was delicious, lunch, drinks and dessert were all incredible. 10/10 would recommend. The manager said we didn’t look old enough to be celebrating 8 years married, we were both very happy to hear that 🥰

Did not have to wait long to be seated. Our waiter, a male, never in my life had a male waiter, never got his name, he made our 'Date-night' an easy, relaxed experience! Thank you, whoever you are!! The food was beyond amazing!! 10+ very busy place, I would recommend reservations, if your hungry going in their. My husband and I will definitely be back, at this location, (downtown) . Reasonable prices, for the food! Cheers!!

This company operates on a level of professionalism that most do not. High quality food and service is a given to be a successful restaurant but this LOCATION goes above and beyond. If there ever is an issue (because at the end of the day, Joey employs human beings not robots), you will not leave disappointed but walk out with a sense of appreciation.
Absolutely love coming to Joey Bell Tower! The staff are extremely friendly and the management show tremendous care for every customer. The food that they serve is always great and the atmosphere is awesome. Also, to have a manager that comes around to ensure every customer is having a great experience shows the level of dedication everyone here has. Joeys Bell Tower is definitely a restaurant you must go to here in Edmonton!

highly dont think this resturant is good. the management and staff working were not nice at all we sat at a booth i was wearing jeans and a tshirt because we came from shopping but i over heard two of the girls talking saying that she already knows shes not going to get a tip based on the way we looked like.... we didnt even order and she was being rude so my husband and i left without even ordering and went to craft market beer place instead. this is not what i expected from joeys. they only want "high class" people there

I ate here for free during the grand opening last year because my friends and I signed up to be guinea pigs and boy was it worthwhile! I actually signed up for lunch but my friend invited me for dinner too so I went twice in one day. Each time there was a good sampler menu and they provided booze. I had to take the afternoon off because of that ;) I might be influenced by the free food and alcohol, but I think the place was pretty nice and the food was not as bad as I had thought it would be. Some things were more forgettable than others for sure, but it's not as boring as Earls or Cactus Club. The beef dip was real good. The sushi was edible. I just liked the diverse food options there. Surprisingly there were no dull moments. I highly recommend coming here for any occasion.

I've been to JOEY a few times here in Winnipeg and the service has always okay. But here in Edmonton, it was something different. First off what I like about JOEY is that the food is always consistent. I always always always order the yellow fin tuna salad. Sure it is a little on the expensive side but it's so good. Our servers were so sweet and we actually had full on conversations with both of them. We had also ordered some food to go and the chef brought out our food for us and that's something I've never seen before and I really admired that. We were accommodated very nicely!

I absolutely loved it here. We had the pressed salmon sushi, sushi cones, penang prawn curry bowl, and yellowfin tuna salad.
The pressed salmon sushi was done so right and it's my favourite place to get pressed salmon sushi because I can't get it anywhere else that tastes this good.
Their sushi cones were wrapped in rice paper (not nori) and tasted good, however nothing outstanding.
The penang prawn curry tasted great - we didn't have much expectations because we've had great penang curry at other places but it blew us away.
The yellowfin tuna salad is another one of my faves as it tasted so fresh and I absolutely loved the dressing and mango pieces that it came with.
If I ever go back I'd definitely order the pressed salmon sushi and yellowfin tuna salad again.
Service was great - food came out at a reasonable time and servers were friendly. Great ambiance as well, I'd say it's a nice place to take someone out on a casual date.

A bumping downtown establishment located near the Ice District. I stopped by on a mid Friday lunch rush to grab a quick bite to eat. Getting there around 1155am, we were promptly seated in a back corner. Thankfully it wasn't as loud there as it was in the rest of the restaurant. I wouldn't characterize it as abnormally loud though - you don't have to yell too hard for the person across from you to hear you.

I ended up trying their Osaka Style Pressed Salmon Sushi, which ended up being (6? 7?) smaller pieces of sushi for $15. Somewhat overpriced, but the quality was pretty good. I really enjoyed how it just melted in the mouth, and the sashimi was noticeable albeit a bit thin. Food was served relatively fast, we were in and out within 45 minutes.

Service was fine. Frequent refills, checking in on us a few times, etc. I liked the environment too. It seems different but yet similar to the other Joey's in Edmonton, and I found it hard to pinpoint why. All in all, it's a bit of a louder restaurant but nonetheless it's a great addition to the downtown Edmonton food scene. Recommended.

It is your standard joeys restaurant. I came downtown to a hockey game and did not know where to eat. Sort of stumbled onto it and it was nice and close to Rogers Place. We did not have much time so get we just got a bunch of appetizers. Food was quick and good, hit the spot.

Excellent first time experience. This is a flagship location so they get to pilot new menu items - I had the Mushroom Bacon Pasta dish, which is going to replace the Fettuccini Alfredo. I don't normally opt for carbonara type dishes but the waitress insisted it was savoury and IT WAS! I dined with 3 colleagues for lunch and we all enjoyed our meals. Our waitress was lovely and the MG popped by our table to ask how our food was and service etc. Keep it up Joeys Bell Tower 👍🏻

JOEY Bell Tower is in a prime location downtown and is sure to be busy with the post-work and pre-game crowd. There's sure to be something to please every palate on the globally-inspired menu and JOEY is very accommodating when it comes to allergies and dietary restrictions. Although it isn't drastically different from other locations, keep in mind that it is a flagship location with more culinary creativity and unique dishes on the menu.

Had to try it because it’s new and close to the office. Calamari was decent, as you can’t go wrong with the aspargus with it to dip in the spicy aioli. Flatbread with sundried tomatoes and chipotle aioli was apparently “delicious if you sub the mayo with hot sauce.” I had the Chili chicken with a side of brown rice because I am health. The combination of the brown rice and chicken is pretty bomb but to combat the sweet of the chili I put soy sauce on the rice to get that little bit of salt. This place is your standard Joey’s that you may have tried over and over again. However, it’s not the best place to eat downtown.

Depending on if you’re coming here after attending Rogers Place, this might be the spot. Although there might be better places a short block away with better menus. We came for a lunch and parking cost 12 bucks for a little over an hour. The waitresses were also wearing jeans. I felt like I was at a Montana’s or something, this place is supposed to compete with the likes of Cactus Club which employ Instagram models….probably. Once the arena is up all this might change, but right now….just Uber to Cactus for better food.

Sal says: Just skip it

#yegeats #yeg #yegdt #food #foodie #foodporn #instafood #delicious #yummy #lunch #dinner #icedistrict
